@yoshicreater8000 they use a method called egg-beating. which basically means that they use their legs to pick themselves up... sort of like a propeller. the harder ur legs spin, the higher you go. you get to a certain point where your body lifts up, giving you more room to throw the ball harder.

there are college water polo teams, and water polo players come out of the water with cuts, bruises and broken noses but the difference between lacrosse and water polo is that a water polo player will never complain about being hurt even when he's injured
are u kidding, lacrosse players go after balls in the middle of a fight with metal sticks, they get brutised and dont complain, we on a regular bases get flipped over by a guy and we still end up having the ball, thats how good lacrosse players are, and thats how much better lacrosse is from water polo
Not trying to take sides, even though I prefer lax, but this is ridiculous. There's scratching and whatnot, but no matter how strong you are, it's impossible to hit hard underwater. In lacrosse, not only are you put thru vigorous training and half to run like a mile everyday in heavy gear even on jv. plus, lax balls may be lighter, but they are thrown very hard, esp. for shots. imagine what the goalie goes thru to stop the ball.
so basically it's just another sport americans made up to try and hurt other people. I would like to point out that water-polo is actually a non contact sport so how can u compare it to lacrosse. And just because it isn't big in america doesn't mean it's rubbish in half of Europe it's the top 5 played sport

there are college water polo teams, and water polo players come out of the water with cuts, bruises and broken noses but the difference between lacrosse and water polo is that a water polo player will never complain about being hurt even when he's injured

are u kidding, lacrosse players go after balls in the middle of a fight with metal sticks, they get brutised and dont complain, we on a regular bases get flipped over by a guy and we still end up having the ball, thats how good lacrosse players are, and thats how much better lacrosse is from water polo

Not trying to take sides, even though I prefer lax, but this is ridiculous. There's scratching and whatnot, but no matter how strong you are, it's impossible to hit hard underwater. In lacrosse, not only are you put thru vigorous training and half to run like a mile everyday in heavy gear even on jv. plus, lax balls may be lighter, but they are thrown very hard, esp. for shots. imagine what the goalie goes thru to stop the ball.

And just because it isn't big in america doesn't mean it's rubbish in half of Europe it's the top 5 played sport

I play waterpolo and you don't have to be agressive, powerfull... You just have to be the most intelligent of the match. If the other catch you, you have to be able to pass him and unlock. you must be able to have resistance to pain 'cause EVERYONE hits the other when he can't "scape" of his lock.
P.D. I'm spanish and from "Sabadell" we're the Spanish champions. One of the bests teams of the world (Athletic Barceloneta) is spanish. it's up to you to believe if I know of waterpolo or not ^^

i play national level water polo and soccer.
water polo is not for sissies. and it is a real sport. i'd like to see some of you soccer players who think it is easy get in and play it. it is about 10 times more tiring than soccer (considering you are in for a much shorter time and you get alot more tired per time you play). and for those of you who say i dont know abot soccer, i do cause i am a national lvl player!!! Believe me, water polo is not something to be easily discarded.
