  • Ghettos are the same all over. They stink..

  • BULLSHIT, MR. HAN MAN!!!

  • Everyone respects Bruce Lee. Anyone who denies is the ultimate liar.

  • I think is so awesome jim kelly is a awesome guy and i love the fact that he never forgot about shihan Gordan Doversola and Okinawa-te hes system of fighting i bet jim kellys back hand was amazing fast :) had to say something about Okinawa-te is the art i been training under sensei Richard Tripplet and is just amazing.

  • Great Jim Kelly!! ^_^

  • Come on somebody out there in Hollywood land, give the legend Jim Kelly a good role in a major film, his talent is being wasted!

  • i hope that book comes soon

  • Awesome. This is a real pleasure for me to see, interviews with Kelly. Hard to come by. Seems like a nice humble guy, none of the airs of self importance. Always great to see that in people I admired over the years. Gotta get the book. Hey, thanks for sharing with us fans, Kato Films.

  • awesome man awesome...back in the day back in the day...what can you say jims a true hero.

  • BULLSHIT MR. HAN-MAN

  • would be awesome if jim kelly was in his prime...LIVE ACTION AFRO SAMURAI!

  • @DJKosmo85 Fuck Yeah!

  • I fucking love Jim Kelly above all alive

  • I absolutely love Jim Kelly... I have seen ever Black Belt Jones flick....

  • Three the hard way is a classic !! Shame about Hot potato though, i can't believe Jim has been offered scripts now as bad as that movie.

  • whether or not Bruce trained with Gordon Doversola it is not a fact simply because Jim "found out later" he heard it from someone. Could be true, could be lie.

  • These Jim Kelly interviews are very interesting - what I gather from them however is that Jim Kelly is an EXTREMELY nice person.

I think that he probably absorbed a lot of hatred and bigotry in his lifetime - probably a lot of it was the result of people using his extremely masculine appearance as an excuse to judge him as a human being (i.e assuming he was a bad motherfucker who would commit crimes, when in reality he was a very smart man and a humble student of every sport he undertook).

  • "... I'm on the internets, you know ..." XD

  • Please somebody gie this man a good script.

  • BRUCE LEE THE MAN~

  • u come out of ah dam comic book

  • @warnutztheloser nice, I love movie quotes

  • ONE WORD: LEGEND!!!!

  • Mr. Jim Kelly reminds me of a more bad ass version of President Obama. Well being President is kinda badass and cool.

  • i MUST meet this man so i can feel happy!!!

  • Bullshit mr han man...

  • Enter the Dragon such a classic movie...

  • mr. kelly is a class act in all sense of the word. shares his knowledge to those that ask, truly humble and generous with both his time and wisdom.

  • one honest senior martial artist speaking the truth about Bruce Lee.

  • jim kelly is pretty much the center of an asshole.. had the nerve to charge 30 dollars for a picture with him then when i told him to cut me some slack cus i'm in school he offered 20 dollars (the student rate).Thats bullcrap.. washed up piece of trash should be happy people want to take pictures of him at all.

  • @VinnyLT9000 Are u serious? I would of expected him to be alot more humble..That kind of sucks to know cuz I was thinking of meeting him one day

  • @VinnyLT9000 Yeah, what a jerk. How dare Jim Kelly not give you a free pass in life. Because this world is all about freebies. Free breakfasts, lunches, dinners and hey, even free blowjobs! Life is one big Happyland amusement park, where it's all about you. People doing things for you and giving you everything for free. So, this happened, at a random, private location? I think maybe it was at a convention or an event, where he was, HELLO! WORKING! That's what signing events are, work.

  • That's one thing a good martial arts program should teach you: integrity! I'm proud that he's not willing to take "anything" just to make a movie. Stay a positive role model brother!

  • so id like to know where you got the notion, so id like to know where you got the notion, rock the boat don't rock the boat baby yeah.

jim kelly is an all round artist , he has a special place in the golden hall of fame .

  • Best fighter of all times. Bruce lee.

  • Thanks for posting this interview with Jim Kelly. I saw him in person at The Chiller Theater Expo on October 31,2009. I wanted to meet him again this past October 30,2010 just to ask him about the problem he had with Tan Tao Liang on the set of The Tattoo Connection.

  • DAYUM HE STILL FAHN AZ HELL UNF

  • Ohooooooooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • "you come straight out of a comic book". BULLSHIT MR.HAN MAN! 2 of the greatest lines in movie history.

  • Nice Interview Its great to see Jim. " Man you come right out of a comic book" classic movie line.

  • i got mr kelly's autograph at san diego comic con 09. he was a great guy!

  • Black Belt Jone is such a classic. Should've been in Kill Bill instead of Caradine.

  • "Bullshit mister han man!" lol jim kelly is the shit

  • Jim Kelly is a class act.

  • @redtesta yes he is. jim kelly is a cool guy. he's been too busy looking good & he's still looking good. wow , it's been 37 yrs. from 1973.

  • man you come right out of comic book..........

  • Been practising, eh?

  • have you noticed not one person in bruce lees days that have met him have never bad mouthed him yet you see some people today that was not even alive when bruce was training and boxing and they say ohhh well hes just a cator lol

The only people that are witness to bruce is the people that met him and saw him.

    R.I.P bruce lee

  • @jimbob202019 you're right! that because Bruce was the Truth!

  • @jimbob202019 you're right. saddest part is, even people like joe lewis and chuck norris, never badmouthed him when he was alive.. but after he passed away, they start calling him a non-fighter.

  • @jimbob202019 Fortunately Bruce Lee kept a good diary. In Bruce Lee's diary dated 1968, we can find training routines designed by Bruce Lee for his three pupils Chuck Norris, Mike Stone and Joe Lewis.

  • jim kelly looks like he should have been in the group (earth wind and fire) lol!

  • originally saxon was supposed to die. wish we would have got to see jim kelly vs bolo!!

  • @bigscore I totally agree man.

  • @bigscore That one I never knew.

  • @bigscore

so why did Jim die instead of John

  • @bigscore

The director was counting on John Saxon being the American (White) movie star to help cross the film over to mainstream box office success.

  • @bigscore But he wasn't even a martial artist and Jim Kelly was a champion.

Sucks how racism has stolen the careers of so many talented performers.

  • Still mad that he died getting beaten by a metal hand and then to add insult to injury getting dumped in acid but he still looks good for his age!

  • @kdemonde Me too. If it wasn't for John Saxon's demands it would have been Williams exchanging thumbs up with Lee at the end.

  • @KatoFilms Really?? I had no idea John Saxon had anything to do with the script, i wouldn't have thought he was that big of a star back in 1973 to make such demands, was it because he was the white star? Well anyway that's a shame that in a Kung Fu/Action movie, a Martial Arts expert gets second billing to an amateur character actor...ALSO! Theres NO WAY Bolo would've gotten his ass kicked by Saxon in real life, that was an embarrassment to Bolo"s skills and his reputation. To get it in the nuts

  • @kdemonde Yes him and his agent evidently had issues with his character being killed off. Not sure behind the reasons. Plus Lee did all the fight choreography.

  • @KatoFilms how old is he right now

  • @iEATkids44 He is 64 years young.

  • Okay Tonyvalente. Buakaw is Thai, and I was more of a Masato fan anyhow. If this is the real tony valente, the only reason I got to this video was through a video of you getting knocked out by some Japanese k1 max fighter. And personally I think you better save the side kicks for point sparring unless you plan on breaking a few ribs which by the look of it, unsuccessful.

  • @hungmanhtran I cant help that your life is based on something i did 7 years ago, and anytime your in Vegas, I will side kick you into 2003. And your bukow is half black loser.

  • @tonyvalente Excellent point bro. All these paper tigers who crave attention and flaming wars need to step up or shut up. Show me one individual who actually accepted your challenge when you called them out and i'll sell you beachfront property in Kansas.

  • @KatoFilms always a fake profile or blocked phone number,

  • wow...im in awe :)

  • This guy looks like Connie Chung but sucks.

  • @hungmanhtran your idol bukow is half black. the president, along with most Americans. And probally your mom got hammered but some black dick before she trapped your dad with your sorry ass.

  • @tonyvalente Isn't it funny Tony how all haters have anonymous profiles with no original uploads? Hmmmm......

  • @KatoFilms they have no soul, only taking up space on the planet. have you every seen a good looking cock roach?

  • @hungmanhtran When you're ready to upload an original interview video of your own and ready to show the world what you look like let us know. Maybe then you'll be taken seriously.

  • THANK YOU MR. KELLY.

I'M HAPPY WITH HOW YOU PICK AND CHOOSE YOUR SCRIPTS AND ROLES. THANK YOU. I'M A FAN OF YOURS AND ALWAYS WILL BE. MUCH LOVE AND MANY BLESSINGS FROM GOD.

  • He s also a very good Tennis player, multi talented guy!

  • Still looks good --and, has all his hair. Always thought his 'fro was cool as hell.

  • Man, you come straight outta a comic book.

  • @Mark2790 It's actually "Man, you come right out of a comic book".

  • @KatoFilms Roper!! How you doing buddy?

  • @KatoFilms thank you LoL so many people mess that line up. "martin" messed it up too

  • They dont live so big over there ,ghetto's are the same all over the world, they

    stink !!!

  • I MISS THE FRO!!!

  • Could someone pls explain why he said Han Man? lol I dont get it

  • @DariushUFC1985 The exclamatory suffix was probably added for drama and intensity. Plus it sounded cool the way it rhymed.

  • RIGHT ON JIM!!!

  • BULLSHIT MR HAN MAN!!!!

  • @JuniorPencil Bruce also did spar with Joe Lewis (witnessed by Brenda Venus)

  • Thanks for uploading this video. I like Jim Kelly, he's one of my idols.

  • Jim Kelly tell all in a book. You said a lot of martial artists dont tell all they know to protect each others reputations.

Chuck Norris is probably one. Bruce kicked his ass, but he dont like to publicly talk about it too much. He tells jon benn privately but publicly he is shy. Dont be like Chuck.

Tell the world how great a fighter bruce lee was.

  • @JuniorPencil chuck norris black belts told me Lee would come spar and chuck would always go in the office a peek threw the blinds.

  • @tonyvalente

Thanks for that info. Do you think Chuck was a bit intimidated of bruce lee?

  • @JuniorPencil norris on Hong Kong TV said he was Lee's student. After Lee died , everyone started to get confidence to talk shit. Norris tried to spar benny the jet, he quit in 1 minute.

  • @tonyvalente

Cheers for the info. Benny the jet made chuck quit. But how old was Norris by that time i wonder? If it took benny 1 minute. It probably took Bruce 20 seconds to make norris quit.

Any more anecdotes would be welcomed.

  • Well done Jim. Let the world know how great a fighter Lee was, because a lot of people are in denial.

  • he's gonna be at the chiller con in nj this october. can't wait to meet him.

  • damn jigga got old...

  • @pornpan96: And yet he could still whip your ass like a rented mule!

  • @WarriorBoy who jim kelly ? hahaaha i d fuckin make him dead jigga

  • GREAT interview man.

  • very nice

  • thanks for posting this, good to see some of the old legends again in 2010!

  • Its great to see williams and roper reunite for the first time in 20 years.

  • Jim Kelly was an incredible martial artist when I was a child in the 1970s and he looks like he has only gotten younger. He looks younger than I do at 40! A living testimony to what fitness and diet can do for you, both mentally and physically. Keep up the great work, Mr. Kelly!

  • he still looks hot! Still love you Williams!!

  • he still looks hot! Still love you Williams!!

  • he still looks hot!

  • jim kelly, words could'nt express how great this icon is. he looks great, in shape, an down to earth. thanks 4 sharing incredible!

  • yea man , getthos are same all over the world .they stink hahahahah

  • This is a 63 year old martial arts legend!! and he looks younger and in excellent shape. Jim Kelly is such a great person and an incredible martial artists.

  • Man i thought he was dead! he looks great! wold love to meet him...

  • a true Grand Master and a gentleman

  • My last name is Kelly and some people ask if I am related to him, no, but my husband is name Jim Kelly. I love Jim Kelly and in my oppinion and I don't think that he get all of his props for his skills in martial arts. I love him very much and I hope that he will be around a long time. I stand by Jim every step of the way. He part in Enter the Dragon was excellent and I am sorry that we don't see him much now. I wish him all the luck in the world and he is still my HERO!!!!!!!!!!JINX

  • AWESOME POST My Friend!!! Great job too!!!

Btw, Today is July 20, RIP Jun Fan!!!

  • @oilkills Thanks. RIP Lǐ Xiăolóng.

  • Yeah great job dude bet it was kool to meet jim kelly :D

  • @KHAOTiKGENOZiDE Thanks. He's a down to Earth and courteous gentleman, incredibly astute, and a good friend.

  • Wow he looks great for his age!

  • Great upload!

  • Fantastic interview! Subscribed!

  • I love Jim Kelly cant wait to see him in action......

  • Quentin Tarantino should give him a role in one of his movies.

  • I was thinking the exact same thing! Jim Kelly would fit right into those Terentino movies. Specially since Terentino loves to use retro 70s references on his films. He is a huge old school fan :)

  • The man look excellent for his age. Great interview!

  • A living legend!

  • Respect for Jim Kelly, Bruce Lee, and you for this interview!

  • Wow, this interview is just... AWESOME! This is some really awesome stuff here. Great seeing this humble guy speak out about his past and current doings. Wow, loss of words finding this gem.

  • @DjAntomattei Thank you. Glad you liked it.

  • Great interview! Jim is a great and humble martial artist, and it shows giving Bruce his props! I too had always thought that Jim had an incredible backhand, just as Larry Holmes had the best left jab in boxing ever! Also, what Jim shares with us is what made Bruce perhaps the greatest martial artist ever is, Bruce learned from everyone. Just because you've learned from someone else does not mean you are inferior to them either. Very good interview.

  • @TheWarRoomInc Thanks I appreciate it. Well said.

  • if thy make an afro samurai movie

thy need to put him in it

  • BULLSHIT Mr. HAND MAN!

  • 06:29 "Bruce Lee was The Greatest Martial Artist that ever LIVED" Enough said!!!!

  • @GhostBustersIII Absolutely and without question! But of course, these younger guys who only see his movie and are not aware of who he was or his real capabilites will not be able to grasp the phoneme and exception that he was.

  • Great interview. And he cleared some doubts about Bruce Lee's abilities. I knew Jim was a world class karate man. But when you watch ETD you see that this guy can act! I thought he was a better actor than John Saxon. Classic lines, classic persona on screen. I love that bit when he is travelling though Hong Kong. Very engaging. One of my heroes.

  • god damn what a legend ! who do i have to kill to get his autograph ??

  • nigga stop takin credit for shit u aint do todamn used to that u wernt do in those moves u just filmed it so shut the fuckup hell u run in ur mouth u loved to be in niggers they got everything accolplished besides jesus if it wasnt for a black man u wouldnt know what to say to ur wife at night

  • @solidsnake0707 What are you talkin about. Man what is that you do?

  • jim kelly was nice

  • jim kelly was no slouch he was nice

  • The man is pure class!!

  • "I'm very particular about the type of image i put on screen"

and yet his charater in enter the dragon is much more stereotypical black than he seems to be. People don't really act like that in real life unless they're modeling themself after people who they've seen act that way on TV. It's still a good character, but he is sort of feeding negative stereotypes a bit by portraying it.

  • @JustThink00 That's an interesting point you make. I see it this way, Jim's statement reflects his current disposition of his on screen image. Enter the Dragon was a great opportunity for him and most young actors will take roles to build experience sometimes contrary to their personal beliefs. I can't say this is the case with Jim so I will need to contact him again to find his thoughts on this.

  • @KatoFilms you know him? are you the guy in the video?

I'm just very skeptical about celebrities. Seems like all of them do whatever it takes to make money, and half of them loose their souls in the process. Of course even worst case scenario he's still probably one of the better ones. He seems very down to earth and it's obvious he takes martial arts seriously.

  • @JustThink00 Yes that would be me. Nice to meet you. A good friend introduced me to Jim at the event and we spent some time chatting off camera. I can honesty say that Jim is a down to Earth genuine person. What you see is what you get. I hope to talk to him again soon.

  • @KatoFilms two cents on stereotypes in films. First, all films are stereotyping whether we see the white stereotype in tv shows like freinds, or we see the black stereotype in films like "Friday". Film making is fantasy, but within fantasy there is an interpretation of reality. Jim always played a confident well spoken character in his films with a groovy tint (keep in mind it was the70's), but his character he portrayed were always very precise and planned things out.

  • @blackshogun77 Good point and well said.

  • @rjl5487 Hi

  • @KatoFilms

I DID NOT KNOW SHIHAN, AS WE CALL HIM,GORDON DOVERSOLA GAVE BRUCE LEE PRIVATE LESSONS BUT,I DID KNOW ABOUT THEIR SPARRING MATCH. BOB WALL(O'HARA) AND JOE LEWIS ALSO TRAINED WITH MR.DOVERSOLA. SHIHAN ALSO KNEW ED PARKER BEFORE THEY BOTH CAME TO THE MAINLAND.

  • @dalhaji Thanks for sharing the info. I plan to ask Jim more on Gordon Doversola more on our follow up interview in the future.

  • Comment removed

  • @JustThink00

The movie itself is an exaggeration of KungFu fantasy. I saw no stereotypical black character, I saw a typical "too cool for school" character who had an ego.

  • @Decembirth well i don't think i'd be offended by the character or anything if i was black. I'm just picking at what i can find to pick on.

  • i have great respect for Jim Kelly and Bruce Lee I'm glad he talked about Bruce

i didn't relies Jim Kelly was so old but he still looks good, can u believe hes 63 didn't know he was a pro tennis player, good interview, excellent martial artists

"Man you come right out of a comic book!"

  • bullshit mr hand man!!!

  • @seekeroftruth1208 you dam right fuck him

  • @seekeroftruth1208 actually mr HAN man.....coz that was his name haha

  • ahhhhhhhhh brilliant!jim still looks cool!

  • Excellent Interview!!!

  • I enjoyed this interview, do you know if he drives a Ferrari? I ask because of his shirt.

  • @GRANDETRACK I just talked to Jim again and he told me that he owned several Ferraris in the past.

  • @KatoFilms I was watching Black Samurai and he was driving what looked to be a Ferrari Dino, I wonder if that was his. I was told it was a common thing for Blaxploitation stars to drive personal vehicles. Also, the car had dents, I thought that was strange.

  • @GRANDETRACK It wouldn't surprise me if it was his car. I'll remember to inquire about it next time we chat. Thanks bro.

  • @KatoFilms bob wall owns a 1970 pinto with a hundred empty vodka bottles in the back seat.

  • @tonyvalente also not to mention a broken bottle with Lee's name on it!

  • Jim Kelly is such a cool and humble guy. I'm a true fan of jim kelly and bruce lee, they're true legends of the martial arts.
