I liked it, but it sounded too much like Neil Young's original (which I also like). When I heard of the collaboration, I had hoped that there would be more of a Latin sound incorporated into it. But then again the sound really is bad on my computer, so maybe I just didn't hear it as well as it really was. Still liked it though, one of my all time favorite Neil Young songs.
If you love Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos then you will definitely enjoy Robert Randolph!! Robert Randolph is playing with Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos at crossroads this Saturday! Be sure to check out Robert and his newest CD that came out this past week!! When he shreds on the pedal steel guitar, you can’t help but feel the music run through your body! Be sure to check him out at (his name) dot net. You will be able to get a free track when you visit him on his sight! WoOt WoOt!!
i was there also. was a great show. I had the pleasure of going back stage and meeting some of these families... this show is all about those kids and it means the world to them... and Cougar kills it on the drums....
Great show... but this is rock n roll people. I know I'
ll get alot of hell for this - but whats up with the kids and their moms behind the band? I know, I know - Bridge School benefit - but it just doesnt fit. This isn't a Raffi or Barney concert. Sorry.
i think its just you..... drummer seens to be gel-in fine .. oh yeah, by the way. i was there stage right when this went down so i know what im talkin bout...
For the most part he's cut off from view in the video, but he is onstage playing. If you watch the left side of the screen, you'll see him, in a red shirt, pop in and out of view a couple of times.
This was actually the second time Los Lobos played with Neil at the Bridge School Benefit. I saw them together at the 2003 show. The obvious-this is a great song.
This is a great song either way-acoustic or electric! So cool of Los Lobos-who are WAY cool to help out this charity near and dear to Neil Young's heart! By-the-way a "cinnamon Girl" is a sweet lady who possesses just a bit of spice to make her that much more alluring! (Got this straight from the mouth of Crazy Horse guys!
I was at this concert! All acoustic makes it more intimate and I am sure the kids in the background might have something to do with it. Everybody should go to one a Bridge School Benefit concert by Neil Young in Mountain View. A good cause and amazing artists! Every October.
It's a little difficult for Cubans to go to a Bridge School Concert. Cubans are forbidden to leave their country. Forbidden. They have that freedom taken away from them. Same with North Koreans. And people who pick through garbage dumps for scraps of food to survive on, I'm not sure they can afford to go either.
Neil rocks either way and so do Los Lobos....sometimes acoustic sounds better than electric (but maybe that's because they're playing acoustic at the moment).
@sam30062 yep that is always how I pictured her too...Crazy Horse are all Hispanic...but I think it is more about her personality, at least that is what I saw the Horse say in an interview; never saw Neil himself say explicitly, which is how he wants it I guess...
@perkyset Need to get those wetbacks off the stage. They can barely play the giutar. I've seen Dave sit in with bands I was there to see and he sucks.
these wetbacks fucked up this song

Neil is the best in his tall, gangley way. No one rocks like he does. Go Canada! (This song is too slow for some reason) lol

@pesoslocos - Cougar's a stud. LL lost NOTHING, but gained when they picked him up. The older these guys get, the better they rock.

& how did you determine this? Try listening with your eyes closed. Neil really enjoyed playing with him...
Monstruo888 2 years ago
I think it's a little slower than the original so it seems like it's dragging. As far as I can tell, the drummer is right there.

Believe me, it's better when Dave Hidalgo does the solo.
perkyset 3 years ago
actually, Louie always plays the solo when LL plays this song w/o Neil :D
JABFELA 3 years ago
I think Dave would disagree.
You are lacking context.
I think that he is proud to play
with one of the masters.
You should have asked John Lee Hooker
how he felt to play with Dave,
maybe he would have said he'd rather
play with Neil. You Don't Know Shit!!!
