Imagine a sound frequency so powerful in volume and so precise in moment and direction of change that it would transcend the strength of the density of whatever metal to the point of being able to reorganize the molecular composition and thus revive the study of alchemy. Sure all the sound wave frequencies here are doing is making the salt move, but imagine if this could be tweeked to cause a movement on a much smaller scale.

Anything that vibrates above a certain frequency (That I don't know which) becomes electromagnetic waves or in other words light, the lowest of which are the microwaves and infrared, which in turn do move material at an atomic level, creating heat, which can melt solid, vaporize liquid and energize gas into plasma.

Now I have come to believe that Alchemy may be able to be revived if we can further our findings of frequencies and molecular composition. Everything has it's own frequency and everything is made of molecules. Molecule vibrate so it is quite possible safe to assume that they can be even slightly reorganized. Sound frequencies can do this, just imagine what a fusion of different frequencies can do. It is said that if you take the frequency of a healthy liver and "zap" an unhealthy liver with it..

@samcheslyn it all has to do with the resonance and shape of the place. the center "vibrator" causes certain sections of the square plate to resonate, pushing the salt in the crevices. The shapes would be completely different if they used a plate of a different shape or thickness.
