  • Nathan Lane is unforgettable in everything he'd been in! I loved him as Gomez Addams! He was funny, childish and over the top with it. Which is the way I've always thought the character should be portrayed, especially when his spouse is as sultry, subtle and deadly as Morticia.

  • To me Nathan Lane is legendary. He is a veteran and much beloved in the theatre community. Raul Julia is the guy the from the Addams Family movies, right? If so, I thought he was good but I definitely prefer Nathan's interpretation.

  • @Hoboinaboxdestroyer Well that's your opinion. Btw, there's quite a few people who would disagree with that "statement" (opinion is more like it). I would be one:

  • B: Best actor and actress in a musical

N: Holy crap this isn't gonna be pretty (pulls out flask)

    These two are amazing

  • y weren't they nominated?

  • the "passover" joke is a bob hope joke. funny, but he really plagiarized that stuff.

  • @Ichiro20 ty....I couldn't remember where I had heard it before....a thousand times. :D

  • @Ichiro20 Do you really think he wrote those jokes himself?

  • @amazingme1515 considering everyone under 25 doesn't know who bob hope is, then yes. absolutely.

  • They have an amazing sense of humor!

  • they should win the best presenters of the tony awards...award

  • Nathan and Bebe should win "Most Adorable Broadway Couple". I don't care if that category doesn't exist; it should be created solely to include these two!

  • I just love her voice. Omg, it's the best voice ever! It's so unique...

I guess it made me become interested in her in the first place. And her looks...oh and the acting, dancing and other things she does, too ;)

But seriously, her voice is so awesome, isn't it?? *__*

  • hehee i think eh should have been nominated honestly i saw the addams famiyl musical he was great

  • "Want a drink?"

    "Maybe later..."

  • There is no fucking way he was the best Gomez are you kidding!

  • @Hoboinaboxdestroyer You have to realise that The original Gomez was a cartoon. so you cant really give a character to him unlike in a script, it's all based on what you think him as for instance I would play him more over the top and classy than Nathan because he is a child at heart.... btw my favourite Gomez is a toss up between Nathan lane and Raúl Juliá :)

  • @dinopickle2

Raul Julia's performance was akin to Heath Ledger in the Dark Night or Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York. Legendary. Nathan Lane is not Legendary.

  • nathan lane has won two tony awards. he got them for forum and the producers

  • Nathan Lane is such a butt but funny as all get out.

  • I'm shocked that Nathan Lane hasn't won a Tony yet!

  • @victoriaindigo What!!!??? These people are blind. Nathan Lane not won a Tony yet!!! that is RIDICULIOUS!!!!!

  • @victoriaindigo Wah? He's won two x)

  • "Or as we call it at my house...Passover." That line was used decades ago by Bob Hope when he was hosting the Oscars. I still remember him saying it. It's a great line, and I don't object to Nathan Lane using it, but I can't believe he didn't know it was "borrowed", and it would have been sweet if he would have given some sort of nod to Hope.

  • ugh NATHAN LANE SERIOUSLY DESERVED THE BE NOMINATED. YES he was playing basically himself..BUT HE WAS HILARIOUS AND WAS GOMEZ

  • @toughcookie5454 I Agree Nathan Lane Is the best Gomez

  • Dude I was on vacation in Denver when this was on I just about died with laughter when Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane start on the whole thing about being passedover for the award Dang they should have gotten the awards I think. Oh well there's always next time plus Kevin Chamberlin and Andrew Lippa should have won but I guess that group of People on that panel don't know good talent when they see it

  • @LilithSterninAddams The Pasover joke is an old Bob Hope joke from when he used to host the Oscars. Still funny though!

  • @stephenc77098 Ok now I get it!Oh man it's still funny! And like I said when I saw this on my vacation to denver I just about died!My eyes had tears coming out of them!So thanks for the info about the joke.

  • OMG I can't believe i missed this :O

  • Nathan: "i didn't see what we were presenting"

    Bebe: "Oh right me neither"

    Nathan: "whats that"

    Bebe:"Oh, Hu"

    i lost it there

  • Did the Addams Family cast not perform this year?

  • on 0:27 look at the door in the backround where they came out u c a person

  • Who won the price???

  • "Or as we call it at my house, 'Passover.'"

The NY Times is right - he IS the greatest living entertainer on Broadway. They should be writing shows FOR him.

  • She probably feel unappreciated. Stupid Tonys It reminds me of Hollywood sadly. The only 2 people that were worthy of getting the award thats being presented.

  • this is probably a real stupid question but when nathan said "or as we call it at my home passover" what did he mean by that?

  • @avenueyay He meant that Addams Family didn't receive hardly any nominations, including the two of them. Terrible shame. They are both great!

  • A friend of mine did see AF and she was not overly impressed but did say that Nathan and Bebe were terrific in an okay musical. They shuld have at least been nominated!

  • Ahahaha I love Nathan:)

  • I just love the way she speak's mmmmmmmmmm she is BEBEautiful

  • Nathan: You Really Believe That?

    Bebe:Yes Yes I Do

    Nathan: Want A Drink?

    Bebe:Maybe Later

    LMAO TO FUNNY

  • Bebe: Huh...

    Nathan: What's That?

Bebe: Best Actor and Actress in a musical

Nathan: Oh, this isn't going to be pretty

    lmao. they were funny.

  • I'm soooo mad that Addams Family didn't get any more nominations or even won anything. Ah well there loss.

  • This was the best part of the entire show.

  • this was my favorite part of the Tony Awards

  • These two guys were the highlight of the show, along with the rest of the cast you saw that night!...

No matter what the critics, and some people may say, it will always have the fans support, that is for sure!...

  • Further I have heard from people who have seen it that agree, there are better things to see

  • @BroadwayDivo hmmmmmmmmm i wonder what kinda people u talk 2 (ZOMBIE!!!!)

  • @BroadwayDivo apperently not the smartest of ppl

  • This was the best part of the tony's i watched it for kevin, nathan and bebe. Oh and of course andrew lippa- too bad they didnt win :( - they should have cleaned up the awards for musicals!

  • @SyLaRaDdIcTiOn You're kidding right? The Addams Family was one of the worst musicals of the season.

  • @BroadwayDivo you might just wanna shut ur fuc**n mouth b4 i shut it 4 u!!!

  • @crystallpink Seriously if you think The Addams Family was better than Fela! or Company or any of the truly great musicals, and you can PROVE it, then I will concede.

  • @BroadwayDivo 1) Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth- Uhm Heloo? 2) Amazing Lyrics and Score By Andrew Lippa 3) Its the freakin addams family! 4) Great Story Line 5) Classic Conflict- with a modern twist 6)HILARIOUS and Witty 7) Everyone relates and sees themselves as a member of the clan- except maybe you.... 8)BEBE NEUWIRTH AND NATHAN LANE! 9) not to mention amazing cast- with krysta rodriguez, jackie hoffman Must i go on?
  • @SyLaRaDdIcTiOn " The Addams Family has arrived, and as predicted by advance buzz, it is not well received. The lion's share of the blame is heaped on the writing team, particularly Andrew Lippa's generic songs and gag-worthy lyrics. Critics additionally bemoan the demorbidization of Addams' signature characters and the watering down of the material into family-friendly pap. A *few* outliers--most notably John Simon, who pens a positive rave--had a devil of a good time.

  • @BroadwayDivo

Number one Thing ALL broadway actors NEVER do- is read the reviews....

Why dont u tell tht to the 10,000 + fans of the musical

  • @BroadwayDivo Ok people calm own! I personally think thta the Adams Family is a really good funny musical, but i also do love Fela and the older musicals.Everyone is intiled to there own oppinion and if we all like the same shows then it would be a VERY boring buisness!

Just everyone respect each others opinions and there's no need to be rude. =)

  • @BroadwayDivo LIE THE ADDAMS FAMILY ROCKS!!!!!!!

  • Haha LOVE them!!! Oh Nathan! Of course pulling out the wiskey! And thank god Bebe was there to keep him in check! Teehee love them thanks!!!

  • This was one of the funniest moments all night. And this intro was totally better than the winner's performance that same night...

  • Bebe gave a better performance giving the award than the actrice who receved it!

  • @magoini Haha. AGREED.

  • I LOVE THESE TWO PEOPLE SOOOOO MUCH!!!

  • Awww... i love these two, Nathan's always funny and Bebe's just adoreble xx

I was Gutted that the Addams Family didn't get more nominations.

  • Nathaaaaaaaan! Always so adorable! Stupid Tonys for not nominating him!

  • My beautiful Bebe! She seems a bit nervous!

  • @MrNewBroadway i understand her...

  • @MrNewBroadway She probably was, she says that she's a shy person in big crowds. So if she's not playing a role and just being herself, she probably was a little nervous.
