Problem with US artists performing on their own land is that they have to put with a whole lot of spoiled brats who take everything for granted and then when one of them dies, everyone feels sad and starts having regrets. Watching this crowd just reminds me of that, despicable they are.

I agree but thats only because the people up close or on the floor are the V.I.P's or High Rollers. Celebrity or industry type people that probably have already met Janet before or will after. All the real screaming fans are up the balconies or nosebleed sections.

@wanaquian The albums fell down the charts cause nobody was allowed to hear her music....radio and music tv channels refused to play her. Also, do you think its just an accident that she didn't perform at any VMAs or other major award show...cause of the censorship, networks stayed well clear of her. She did her best to promote alone, hence her appearances on some tv, but her albums were not supported. Janet's name alone can get the album to no.1 but every1 needs support, that she didn't have.

@wanaquian You had to be around to see it happen. She was banned from the Grammies, and MTV suddendly stopped playing her videos. Radio DJs were ignoring requests, fans will tell you that DJs even said on air that they shouldn't bother requesting cause they aren't ever gonna play her. Those albums were 'disasters' (as u put it) cause she wasn't being supported. Pop radio especially. The only network that continued to support her was BET, 'black entertainment tv'.

The grammies banned her in 04 unless she apologised live on air, course she turned them down. It's one of the biggest scandals in music history but not many people are aware. It's ashame. But things are turning around for her, they've 'forgiven' her. Just hope its not too late to get back on top again, where she shouldn't have ever left.

How can one of the biggest popstars go from scoring megahits and breaking radio records with 'All for you' in 2001, to suddendly having no chart success or impact on radio a day after the superbowl. Had nothing to do with 'bad' music, it was a deliberate blacklisting on the part of the networks sponsoring the halftime superbowl. If u look at her 04 to now performances, shes never lost it.

Radio DJs were ignoring requests, fans will tell you that DJs even said on air that they shouldn't bother requesting cause they aren't ever gonna play her. Those albums were 'disasters' (as u put it) cause she wasn't being supported. Pop radio especially. The only network that continued to support her was BET, 'black entertainment tv'.

@TheTeetytee They didn't even try to hide it. After the SB, Radio Djs said live on air they wouldn't play her, and she 'suddendly' disappeared from MTV. The grammies banned her in 04 unless she apologised live on air, course she turned them down. It's one of the biggest scandals in music history but not many people are aware. It's ashame. But things are turning around for her, they've 'forgiven' her. Just hope its not too late to get back on top again, where she shouldn't have ever left.

@adaront Yup. If you can think back, think how big she was and then suddenly how she was flopping. How can one of the biggest popstars go from scoring megahits and breaking radio records with 'All for you' in 2001, to suddendly having no chart success or impact on radio a day after the superbowl. Had nothing to do with 'bad' music, it was a deliberate blacklisting on the part of the networks sponsoring the halftime superbowl. If u look at her 04 to now performances, shes never lost it.

When I went to bed that night, Janet's breast wasn't on my mind. Even when I woke up the next morning I had forgotten all about it. I turned on the TV and the media WOULD NOT shut up about it. So sometimes she helped him with moves, and sometimes he helped her, and sometimes they came up with moves together. And she's not just Michael's Sister. She clearly made a name for herself.
