  • And he died of something completely unrelated to smoking. I'm not saying go out and smoke 10 packs a day, but all you nonsmoking anti-drug vegans are missing out on too much in life.

  • This sketch is somehow tragicomical. Non-smokers believe that smoke brings you closer to death, and therefore they avoid it. They feel like to deserve more health because of their decision. But fate doesn't listen to anybody.

  • were those cigarettes really worth his death? Not so funny now...

  • @gardnerbm Wow, yeah, there are direct connections between liver/pancreatic cancer and smoking....idiot.

  • @jakebp Yea there are, cancer.org says "The risk of getting pancreatic cancer is 2 to 3 times higher among smokers.Scientists think this may be due to cancer-causing chemicals in cigarette smoke that enter the blood and damage the pancreas." Maybe you need to do more research......Dumbass.

  • shit, im dead too? fuck.

  • @DaveAngel98 no the douchebag thinks he is an asshole cause bill was ripping on non smokers and like 99% non smokers they think they are better than people smoke lol

  • R.I.P.

  • @DaveAngel98 yea

  • i always sleep tight

thanks bill for your truths and comedy

    you were a fucking genius!

  • Around 20% of smokers get lung cancer (ive actually read as little as 6/7%, there seems to be no definite asnwers). Smoking is bigged up to be certain death if you do it, which isnt true. And yes you might die from it, but youll most likely still be old when you do. PS im a non smoker because 20% is enough to keep me away.

  • Bill Hicks, along with George Carlin are the best comedians I have ever seen. Unfortunately, both are not around anymore.

But these jokes about cancer are stupid, even more then people who post them here.

Only thing that is more disgusting is Dennis Leary who is nothing but a lame copycat of Bill Hicks. Fine actor, I must admit, but a lame comedian.

  • @Wantar Check out doug stanhope ;)

  • @MrJohnscott1

    not

  • This dude goes to every Hicks video and writes that same drivel. The irony of this guy calling anyone else an asshole.

  • @RCTPatriot75 hahaha now TJHAT is funny!!!

  • Are you talking about yourself? :)

  • Not of lung cancer though...

  • Pancreatic cancer. It didn't matter if he smoked or not.

As with everything in life, you pays your money and you takes your chances. In the end, the old genetic roll of the dice will be the deciding factor in your health and longevity. Some people get lucky when egg meets sperm; some don't.

  • Actually, pancreatic cnacer is strongly linked to smoking.

  • But of course. Smoking causes everything, and Big Pharma, particularly the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (sellers of fine nicotine replacement products) has funded mountains of junk science to prove it.

If you don't smoke, you'll live forever.

  • Well, my stepfather died of panreatic cancer in 2003. His doctor said his lifelong smoking was almost certainly a factor. But why should I believe an board-certified oncologist when I have the word of some guy named "racookster?" Get a fucking grip.

  • That's reasonable. You have no reason to trust me at all.

I'd urge you to do your own research. Remember, an oncologist — any doctor — is not a scientist. The science has been thoroughly corrupted by corporate and government interests. The anti-tobacco movement is a cash-cow, and the hazards of smoking have been grossly exaggerated. In the case of "second-hand smoke," it's been completely fabricated.

See the "War on (some) Drugs" for the methods used.

Sorry about your stepdad. Good luck!

  • Wasn't trying to pull the dead relative card. Sorry about that.

I agree science has been corrupted by corp and gov interests. But the big interest at stake here is the tobacco industry, not the anti-tobacco movement. Doubting a link between smoking and cancer is not a healthy skepticism, but an unhealthly willingness to believe in conspiracies.

  • If you don't believe conspiracies exist, you haven't been paying attention. Of course, I don't think you'd hesitate to accuse Big Tobacco of conspiracy; why then would you believe that far bigger Big Government and Big Pharma don't conspire?

In point of fact, they do. Big Tobacco wanted us to buy their products; Big Government and Big Pharma want your taxes, your freedom, and a monopoly on the production of anything deemed a "drug." It's as simple as that.

But, as I said, do your own research.

  • Conspiracies exist. But the conspirators in this case were the tobacco companies, who withheld information about the dangers of smoking. They also tried to hide the fact they manufacture cigs to be more addictive than they would normally be. I don't accept that the anti-smoking movement is the big villian here.

  • racookster, just curious, who's making money off of the anti-tobacco movement?

  • The pharmaceutical industry, from nicotine patches, gum, and (extremely dangerous) antidepressants sold as stop-smoking aids (please see your Robert Wood Johnson Foundation); federal and state governments, which have raised the taxes on cigarettes through the roof; local governments, which fine private business owners for allowing a legal activity on their property; and government again, which has been profiting off the Master Settlement agreement... possibly since before you were born.

    XP

  • @racookster lol true he said he wished it was lung cancer cause the irony would of been so good

  • @racookster my photo teacher has pancreatic cancer he has been cured........lol really/

  • Hilarious

  • Because theres no cure for cancer.

  • why is this man dead?
