I am fed up with reading messages against the 'new' AIC band. I discovered the guys a year ago and since then I keep on enjoying every music piece they have made. I think 'new' AIC deserves a lot of chances. It is no easy in any way to restart work after Layne's passing -I think he was unique in everything. But for now they must keep music alive. That fact has occured in many bands such as QUEEN (Mercury said that the show had to go on, remember?).
Hmmm, the clips on the video don't really come to mind when listening to this song for me but it's cool to see how different an instrumental like this effects people.
Personally I think a song like An Ending by Brian Eno would fit better with the clips.
this song is why people who say 'no layne, no chains' have no idea what they are talking about. layne staley is my favorite vocalist ever but kinney, cantrell and starr/inez are amazing at their instruments. their ability to play dark, heavy grunge and metal is amazing.
ive had this song on repeat for days, and just recently have i come to truly appreciate how epic those 6 tracks on Jar of Flies are, completely different style, a truly amazing album.
i like duvall. i think people that stop liking a band just because they lost a lead singer are extremely ignorant. the voice is a huge part of the band, but if you don't have a talented group of guys on the instruments then the voice is nothing without the sound.
saying 'no layne, no chains' is saying Cantrell, Kinney, Inez and Starr are bad musicians and that is a lie, and this song, along with the rest of Jar of Flies, proves it. A record of ballads.
This song has so much emotion, you can basically tell just by listening to this song what Layne and Cantrell would've done as far as lyrics if they had decided to sing this one...regardless this is one of my favorite AiC songs of all time.
I love Alice in Chains.. It's funny that I used to not like this song.. but now it's seriously one of the best instrumental songs I've heard... brings so many thoughts to mind. Alice in Chains is timeless.
i swear I want this song at my funeral..its just so calming like a sea breeze on a warm night drinking sum beer..IDK its just amazing..no lyrics are needed we all get the emotions in this song with the guitar..
my dads best friend worked at a strip club in louisville KY and met both jerry cantrell and layne stanley and talked with them for hours. he said they were amazing people
Not one band in the past twenty years can take Alice In Chains...Slayfner love your input, No band in music History has so much depth in their tunes, AIC plays Rock, Metal, "Grunge", Blues, and Acoustic, they are simply the best
maybe its just a psychosematic thing because of the music bank videos but every time i hear this song it sounds like something great has ended. it feels like a pensive sorrowful retrospective on something. life i guess.
cmon man i dont thinks its fair to call AIC grunge, thats an insult, their sound is truly beyond any genre a sound thats an equal balance of every rock or blues style and jerry's knowledge of music and excellent song writing puts them on par with any of the greats, and the diversity of all th albums, each with thier own sound, puts AIC far above any band with zep and clapton being 1b and 1c
the journey isnt love enough...

I QUITE AGREE WITH YOU, k4aic
AIC showed a great mixture of aggressiveness and calmness.
Let alone Staley and Cantrell's society.
WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU!!

Don't you think you should give DuVall a chance? I can bet Layne would want that. This was his 'baby', and I'm sure he wouldn't want to let it die.
DuVall has talent worthy of AIC.
Give him a chance.
