@BasicModelling 1. Are humbrol enamels airbrush-Ready, 2. how do you thin yours, 3, are they sold in the US, 4. Your vids are the best I've seen so far. Merry Christmas Happy, New Year
@battlefieldKicksAss 1: I believe they have to be thinned, but I don't airbrush, so I don't know. 2: I thin them using a Humbrol enamel paint thinner 3: I don't know, but they sell Airfix in the US, so are bound to sell Humbrol paints too. 4: There are better videos out there, but thank you all the same.. Much appreciated! :) Happy New Christmas-Year to you too.. :)
I was very happy with how the molding was on this kit, with the rubber tracks being the best I have ever seen, though eventually it was apparant that the wheels was not shaped properly.
The outer circular shape did not share the same point of center as some inner circular shape, making it look like the mold for the wheels were wrong.
After putting stuff together, I noticed that the gun barrel seem bent, but that might have been my fault somehow.
I'm slowly catchng up with all the videos I've somehow managed to miss!! Anyway, another nice build! I do like the 'S' tank, I wouldn't mind building the !:35 version of it :)
@bruce3371 You can get both the B and the C version in 1/35 and I have done both... but the C version in splinter camo is my favourite.. I even came second in a competition with that tank, even though it's not really anything special! I will hopefully get round to make a C in 1/72 later this year too.. :)
@blitzklinge11 Thank you.. I think I only stapled them once per track.. The C version is easier as you can hide the staples behind the side armour.. :)
I am getting ready to build the 1/35th scale version of this kit. (I wish that I had found this video before sending you my E-mail - the notation to paint the model Humbrol 75 dark Green (instead of the RLM 02 called-out on the instructions,) was very helpful. Though, any additional suggestions are appreciated.
Added to favorites for the duration. Thanks for posting this.
@modelermark172 Hm, I should have checked the inbox before I sent you the video, as you obvioulsy have seen it already.. :) :) Never mind, glad you found this video helpful.. :)
nice model :) i like the design of the s-tank, i think like the german assault guns in the 2nd world war (stugIII and stugIV) this system with a directly on the hull fixed gun is superior to tanks with turrets.
@888HamilkarBarkas888 The low silhouette has some great advantages.. :) I hope to build a C version of this tank later, with the added side armour!! :)
@rattinox Thank you.. I will make the C version at some point, with the splinter camo.. :) Trumpeter has some great kits, but I recommend you do some research on whatever topic you chose to build, as they tend to have the odd mistake in the instructions or with the parts.. :) Glad you enjoyed the model / video.. :)
@macman1138 Thanks.. just ignore the smoke canisters / grenades though.. they should not be there!! I can only blame Trumpeters instructions, plus the fact that I was in the Swedish Air Force, not the Swedish Army.. thus my knowledge and experience of Swedish armour is limited.. :)
Just looking again; nice tank, reminds me of the tough guy with a chip on his shoulder only instead of daring you to knock that chip off, he swings around, knocks you over, and then flattens you out; then he asks if you want some coffee and a cookie...don't know why I write this, compelled to...:)
You're too kind, Sir.. Just gone 6 in the morning here, I have had about 3 hours sleep last night.. Never mind, at least I will be kept busy and entertained this afternoon!! Hope to 'see you' again in a couple of days... :) :)
you're in luck; it's about 9am so you can take a nap...and then be prepared for you know who will bring 11am coffee, just two hours until you know what from you know who....:)
maybe too much modelling? perhaps you would become healthy if you played an accordion...that's it...well hope they can get to the problem...always difficult in the thoracic area...
What makes this a tank, and not a tank destroyer? Since it has no turret, cant it be considered a tank destroyer, or even have its own class? Tank destroyers have an open turret, no turret at all, or run on wheels instead of tracks, so what should we realy consider this thing to be?
I sure wouldn't stand in the way of one.. We had a couple of field runs when I was in the Swedish Air Force.. they always laid the track across the nearby Army Tank Regiments exercise ground.. I guess it was to get us used to running in amongst tanks in motion! Hardly health and safety, though.. A friend of mine (English) who was in the RAF refers to tanks as 'targets'.. I guess he may have a point, especially now as he works (as a civilian)at the Apache base up the road.. :)
Since I discovered I could do it.. on the Italeri Italian Camionetta, or whatever it was called.. I only weather the armour models though, not confident enough to try anything on the planes yet.. :)
It's another classic design, in line with the stealth ships designed for the Swedish Navy.. and all the Saab jets.. :) Small country, GREAT technology.. :) At least if I say so myself.. :)
Thank you.. I did a better job on THIS tank though.. I will build another 'C' version later, painted in the proper 4-tone splinter camo you normally see it in, rather than the winter camo shown here.. :)
wow, epic model... also with the blade, you could of also used a small amount of milliput, its great stuff unless you get some on your carpet, then your fucked... :S luckily ive never had it happen to me, but a mate did it once and his mum wasnt best too pleased...
I have only ever used milliput once, and used too much, thinking I could sand it off like I can the ordinary filler.. turned out it wasn't quite so easy!! Since then I haven't touched the stuff.. :) But I still have some.. somewhere.. :)
im using it on my 1:35 scimitar by afv models, hopefully the inbox vid will be up soon, still sorting the flat out as the bedroom still needs painting

awesome dude...that is so good(at least compared to mine, mine looks like sumthing outta the junkyard that is randomly spray painted)

@MBJCHIEN I guess that's what most of them look like now.. from the junkyard. :) :)

Snygg modell där! Du kunde dock gjort plogen lite mer ''smutsig''. Men mer pansar-modeller! :)
En fråga bara. Borde det inte vara svårt att köra den stridsvagnen, när kanonen sitter fast på karossen?

I do love the "S"- but of course I'm a Swede-American, so what else?! A truly brilliant design for a defensive tank.
I'll have to build the Trumpeter after I build an Accurate Armour kit.
