I believe they're also small fusion propelled rockets, which accelerate which cause damage by exploding their remaining fuel upon impact as well as the ballistic damage.
Bolter shells are ridiculously powerful. They're .75 caliber two-stage, rocket-propelled, armor-piercing high-explosive shells. Rumors go that they were originally developed after they faced against the Orks for the first time since Orks have a tendency to ignore pain from superficial wounds such from ordinary slugthrowers.
Also, due to the preliminary charge being less than that of a normal shell, bolters actually have a softer discharge than ordinary guns.
the physics behind that is bullcrap... that kind of propulsion in a bullet would allow it to reach outer space.. since a normal bullet practically NEVER loses its momentum(taking the size of the bullet into account), yet tau outrange em like 3 to 1.. fluff fail
The bullets can travel far, but they cant hit anything out of a certain distance because the weapons dont have 100% accuracy. They are not EFFECTIVE up to that range.
Gravity always works, regardless of forward momentum. If you drop a bullet, and fire one straight ahead, they will both hit the ground at the same time.
Different models of Bolters have different firing speeds. I think its the more recent ones that can't go full auto. Check the 40k wiki, should explain the fluff there.
Nope, not faster... but different yeah. Bolters are kinda propellant grenade launchers not machine guns. But far as i know this is just beta of the mod or sumthing.
Fluffy wise the standard bolter shell is standardised mostly on 75 calibre with sicle magazine with 20 rounds, bolter can fire one precision shot or fire burst of three shells simultaneously. This reactive rounds work like mini RPG. Kinda messy and noisy true. :D
Yeah you right, not exactly powerful but work in similar way though. RPG- rocked propelled grenades. In addition bolts are shaped charges like rpg's. It mean much power but in one direction than no real 'kaboom' explosion. Tau in other hand just fry the enemy with pulse plasma... like knife trough butter. :D
whats the damage?

purpleSun6292 1 year ago
hey i was just wondering if you knew the console code to add it into the inventory
halo2guy7 2 years ago
actually, it is .997 for Space Marines while the lower level .75 cal. rounds are for their regualr human counterparts (scouts and the like).
As for size, the regular Space Marine is about 7 feet tall, whether that is when wearing armour or not is debatable

The standard bolter shell is standardised at .75 calibre, whereas heavy bolter rounds are larger, at 1.00 Cal.

and shouldnt he be taller? and the boltgun as loud as a tank cannon?
Potatonaught 2 years ago
people kept on complaining how loud it was origninally. the updated one is bigger, aswell as the terminator armor.
breakinmedia 2 years ago
Actually, when a bolter fires, it is loud cause this is the emperor's whatever it represents him. So yeah it is loud for the emperor.
BeaconTeaser 2 years ago
I must get dis
Potatonaught 2 years ago 2
Wow, that's excellent; perfect model and textures. The only downside is the noise the bolter makes- shouldn't it be louder and more, well, deeper?
BlackSabbath612 2 years ago
Vetrans kik arse lol, its a bit boring, make him run around!
cydoniaknight123 2 years ago
the weird thing about bolters is that they are only susposed to fire semi or burst but in some of the 40k books they say they also can go full auto?

The fluff always like to describe the noise as thunderous booms, whereas this sounds incredibly weedy.
The scoped .44 magnum sound would have been better, I think.
fossdog 2 years ago 2
still, rapid fire are best options, is there also a heavy bolter in fallout 3 ?
pantargam 2 years ago
slower ... not faster
Kapelannew 2 years ago
no I mean it should have a higher rate of fire

Seriously, a mini RPG? I knew they were supposed to be explosive and powerful but not like that! And to think that tau shots are stronger...
