(It seems that you have to NOT be talented to become popular on YT these days. Just do something creative, stupid, or [preferably] both for a while, and your popularity will kick off eventually.)

I watched the original hulutube video. I agree that youtube, the company, has many things to fix. But, I noticed that the video producer seemed to ignore the other problem with this website -- the youtube community. For some reason, people really let their hostility and neuroticism fly on this website -- especially in the direction of Christian producers. Is it really necessary, can't we all just get along?

Well they SHOULD be there waiting for your videos to come out so they can watch them the second they're done processing. What's up with subscribers who don't watch vids? They ought to be sitting behind their computers 24 hours a day waiting for that new ChristoferL video. Even if it means staying home from work or skipping meals, the videos are the most important thing.

illegitimate suspensions and illegitimate video takedowns can affect you too. the same is true for votebots.

be honest... if you would get less responses and messages, you would be less involved and would have less motivation to put effort into your youtube-channel. and if you would get suspended, it would take a long time to undo that damage, and to rebuild the connections you rely on.

and what about freedom of speech / freedom of expression on youtube?

I have never understood the whole 'Freedom of Speech and Expression on Youtube' argument. We are given a privilege to post videos on YT - the only rights we have is to the copyrights of the material we produce. If YT decides for any reason that it doesn't want to host my videos - so be it! I am in their house as their guest - so I have to follow their guidelines - no? We have no 'right' to Freedom of Speech and Expression on Youtube - that is something we the users have invented.

Finally... someone gets it. Freedom of Speech on YouTube is not protected by the federal gov't. And when YouTube removes certain videos or bans certain individuals, it's not censorship, it's regulation. Censorship is technically defined by the Constitution as that which is regulated by the gov't. The FCC censors, not YouTube.

People just don't get that.

I figure if I make my videos, I post them and hope those that need to hear will hear. So if only 800 people see it (about my average lately) then maybe those 800 were the ones that needed to see it. I don't do this for popularity but because I feel that God gave me a platform and I must be faithful to use it. Great message, brother.
