  • Porno music... because that's exactly what this is.

  • This is just a number of different Quattro clips, with the images of Rohl testing merged in from Audi. Good video, great in car from Portugal etc!

  • egad

  • Actually I think he did in the s2

  • GET OUT OF THE ROAD!!!!

  • the ironic thing is, he never won a world championship in a quattro...

  • I just wonder why none of the stupid spectatores was killed....

  • @HesseJamez They eventually were.

  • Has anyone got the link to a video where its the correct speed? Thanks

  • @penkapenkapenka That is the correct speed....

  • @powripper I know for a fact it is not the correct speed. I have seen clips in the video from different angles.

  • @penkapenkapenka

I Have an old VHS of when it was originally released with this exact music. If someone sped it up the music would sound different or the sound effects would be off. This is proper speed.

  • @powripper

That may be the case, this may be from the same VHS. I don't know think we will agree either way. I just know it's impossible for a car to take a Left 2 corner at the speeds shown in the video.

Please watch the following video which shows some of the clips shown in this video in REAL-TIME.

Video: Group B - Crazy Fans [Remaster]

    Time in video: 3:16 - 3:27

  • I was just watching this video again and noticed that the comment that I made 3 years ago "I keep watching this video over and over again... it's just such an awesome display of skill!" is still one of the highest rated comments.. and it's still valid too, LOL! :-D

  • LEGENDARY AUDI.

  • Going so fast he's dancing like Michael Jackson!

  • its like he is playing a musical instrument with those feet

  • LEGENDE

  • THE DRIIVING GOD !!!!!!!!! The Lord of automotive heaven.

  • Questo significa guidare....!!!

  • haha omg not normal respect for this man respect Audi quattroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Funny Story with crazy Fans: Röhrl Drove a Track and passed 3 times one corner. There was a guy standin on the track and jumped away the last second befor the car would hit him. First time Röhrl kicked the brakes. second time again, but softer. On the third time he thought: Ok, if u want to die..." and accelerated.

  • @Brownyy123 cool story bro

  • @30EvroInDaNos

Another cool story: years earlier he got oranges as a present of a fan. During a part of the track the net opened and the oranges got under the braking pedal. While he was driving top speed he throwed all Oranges out of the window... Sorry for my bad english

  • Christ, rally fans are fucking nuts!

  • im pretty sure most of this is from rally portugal sometime in the 80's obviously

  • 1984 i saw this video at the first time.

I just call to say thank you !!!

  • Real MAN! Real CAR! But MAN comes first!

  • Hero.

  • brilliant footwork. what a driver

  • REALLY could do with out the porno music

  • Comment removed

  • Driven an Audi S1 or Lancia Delta S4 over a 2000 mile Rally like the Lombard RAC Rally in 1986 then? Somehow, I seriously doubt it. I also seriously doubt you've ever driven a proper car like that faster than Walter Rohrl. Oh, and Rohrl was voted the best Rally Driver in history by an Italian panel of judges, and Niki Lauda called him "Genius on Wheels". I don't even see how you can call this slow.

  • He was one of the man hwo could put everthing out of the car!

  • officially, the final 1986 cars had 600 PS / 591 bhp. Audi tended to talk down their bhp

  • @tommy1971s My uncle works at Audi History and he often has to deal

with that car. At events today, the pressure of the turbocharger has been set

down,so it has around 420 hp.

  • omg this Footwork is insane oô

  • The group B Audi S1 quattro hasn't got 600 bhp.

    It has ~530 PS.

  • @AnDy5XbOx The power output actually varied somewhat.

  • lol porno music

  • Assolutamente stupendo!!! 5/5

  • bellissimo questo video.Dimostra quanto i piloti nel Gruppo B giungevano al limite..

  • those days, you had to shift your own damn gears. i love it.

  • haha dat geezas feet rofl

  • 1. This song rules and perfectly fits the vid.

    2. This is official PR material from the 80s, the song was used a couple times in a documentary of Audi's group B efforts.

3.I've just found out the song is "If I Say Stop, Then Stop" by Georgie Red. I've been waiting literally my whole life to find this out. This song and this video and that car is my one memory from me at 5 yrs old that I will never forget.

The song goes with the car.

  • wat idiot puts music over the top of sumthing that sounds that good?

  • group b FTW...

  • Incredible driving skill to keep the legendary Quattro on track, but Group B power was insane. I wonder how many spectators were killed during that era? Those numbnuts were just standing there waiting to be executed!

  • Does Audi have the full footage of each camera angle? That would be cool to see. Pretty impressive stuff even with the ADD editing.

  • Hy. Someone knows the name of this music???

  • @EmanuelPaliottaVideo - Georgie Red if you haven't found out already. Nobody knows anything about the music.

  • i agrre with jeepy22

it will be better if we can hear the engine sound!!

  • Great video just a pity we had to listen to the 80`s porn music instead of listning to the quality of the engine.

  • Ohh my God, this is amazing.... how cans a man drive like this??? Is wonderful... and the car... is the best ever

  • The question is,I think, what is he able to do with his hands once seen what he can do with his feet?

  • quattro is king!

  • Incredible ! Fantastic car driving !!! But a little dangerous :)

  • fantastic car, fantasic driver. they let's look on his work of foot. Really, there is amazing. the best car in history of rally.

  • Most brutal rallycar ever build

  • Sensational stuff... i love it!

    Cheers

  • There is someone who knows the name of this song? Thanks...

  • Walter Rohrl is a brilliant chap. His skill is amazing!

  • Walter Röhrl is 60 and Porsches 1st Test Driver

  • he's an artist, pure genius. man i wish i could work the pedals like him, i'm still trying to perfect my double clutch.

  • its all in your head. the double clutch downshifts must come to you naturally you must not think about it. if you can do like that, than you can call yourself a DRIVER

  • this is true... when they started dismantling some of the rally cars, they found fingers in the air ducts. look that shit up its true ha ha ha

  • la cosa più assurda è la gente a qualche metro e IN TRAIETTORIA...cmq onore a chi guidava bestie del genere

  • incredible

  • DId you notice the noise of the 5-cylinder engine made is similar of that to the V10 of BMW? In-car especially. Do compare the noises...

  • I keep watching this video over and over again... it's just such an awesome display of skill!

I wish I could even come close to such driving skills and then enjoy being 'in the flow' and driving like that. :))

  • I forgot to mention that, when watching this video I find it hard to sit still.

My feet just want to move and 'dance along'... if they could ;)

  • Still watching it at least once a week. It's awesome to see and a brilliant example of all the skills one can learn when one is dedicated enough; very fast reaction and response times while performing complex operations.. almost 'without thinking'.

P.S.: still searching for the name of the song! :)

My feet are dancing around again, just the illusion of them moving around almost like Walter's is pure pleasure! :D

In reality I'm just moving almost randomly, lol!

  • bad video ... if you really like engines (and sound of engines ...), you shouldn't put a music (loud) in your movie. It's my opinion.

But thanks to Walter who is a fantastic driver !!!!

  • its from an audi promo in the 80s. the music was always in it.

  • did s1 have synchros or not?

Hard to say by his footwork and video quality))

  • blade - there was few type of S1, first one had classic quattro gearbox with synchros on all gears except 1st and R, final version had SMGlike gearbox with 2 axial clutches -this gearbox version was tested on RAC rally 1996 if i am not wrong

  • 1986 of course :-)

  • Yeeeaaaaahhhhhhhh! Group B. Mmmm All amazing cars. Lancia Delta, Quattros and the all amazing Ford RS200.

  • i reckon he should be the stig mighty car control

  • Walter Röhrl best german Rallydriver.

First he was champion on fiat then on opel and then he turned to Audi.

Audi profits of the knowledge of Walter Röhrl.

    Love this man

  • Defenitely one of the best racecardrivers of all time. Pure Sex

  • There's just one word for this: perfection

Such control.. I know it might sound a bit cheesy, but this really is a brilliant example of man and machine becoming one!

And I too would really LOVE to know the name of the music.. it's weird but so cool at the same time! :D

  • 600 bhp... wiki ftw :)

  • 600 bhp? nooooo 500

  • Weeellll... The first 1984 Sport Quattro produced 305bhp and later, in 1985, but before launching the Sport Quattro s1, 444bhp.

Yet in 1985 Audi launched the Sport Quattro S1, but this time, with approximately 600bhp.

There were a few versions in a short period of time, which creates some confusion regarding their bhp!

The same happened with the Delta S4, which the first versions produced 450bhp and 612bhp(although unofficial!), in the Tour de Corse final version...

  • best driver

  • 5star vid, no doubt about it!

  • Song: "If I say stop then stop" Georgie Red

  • Walter Röhrl ist der beste Rallyefahrer!!

  • definitiv ist er das

  • allerzeiten! :) mein idol...

  • Somebody knows, what the music is?

  • NORTHLAX- i would just keep driving and it would be there fault if they got knocked down, plus they also led to group b rally cars being banned because of injury and shear power of the cars....

  • yhe quattro was a great car, but peugeot had the best team, jean tod had 2 great pilots salonen and kankunnen, and let's be sincere, the quattro wasn't very easy to drive, especially the s 1...

  • this are no man they are machines

  • wow, how do they do it with all those people, really makes you wonder.

  • They didn't call them the "Killer 'B's" for nothing.

  • all that people in portugal...! those were the days...! the b groupe cars were so awesome to see...!

  • thats why they band it.those people in portugal wouldnt stay off the road.

  • I love Audi ur-quattro. Some day I will buy one from Germany :) Now I only have 1.8 liter 4-cylinder Coupe GTE... :P

  • Röhrl is a Genius...and this 5-cylinder from Audi is still the best engine of them.

  • Best driver and car.

    Audi quattro was a revolution.

...i miss my Audi so much!

  • I know i have posted the same message everywhere but need all to know In 2004/5/6? (cannot remember) a metro 6r4 (probably the slowest of the Groub B Cars) came 8th despite going off backwards at 80mph, and set some fastest stage times in Ireland Overal against the WRC cars (at the hands of Colin McRae RIP) just goes to show that a well driven S1/T16/S4 could possibly still win rallies over 20 years later against modern technology.

  • yeah these also have around 600 hp. wrc cars now are limited to 300.

  • There's been a huge gain in tires over the last 20 YEARS, semi auto gearboxes and turbo anti-lag, but although the WRC motors run turbo restrictors don't be fooled by their stated 300hp max. Modern WRC motors are all about torque and most have well over 500 NM so they're basically equal in torque to the Group B cars, just missing top end power due to the restrictor, but they're not geared for top end anyways!

  • You said it all... Tires have changed more in the past 20 years than the automobile has in the last 50, minus that of electronic advancements. What the WRC needs to do is go back to group B rules and learn some crowd control... It doesn't take a genius to know that if a bunch of people are standing on the outside of every corner that eventually someones going to get hit.

  • The weight class the S4 and T16 were in was 960Kg min (that's why they were only 1750cc) so they are still SH*T fast off the line but harder to drive because of H pattern gearboxes, left foot braking to counter turbo lag and they didn't have active diffs.

  • The fact that they're harder to drive plus have no driver aids is why all Group B rally drivers kick ass compared to almost all modern drivers with all their electronic aids

  • that music is SHIT!

  • Great Walter.

What's the name of this music???

  • cheesy 80's hits

  • ma quanti piedi ha?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a driver....maybe the best with Henri Toivonen..

  • how does he drive so fast without the engine falling off ???

  • try to break with your left foot and hit the gas pedal with the right to hold the pressure of the turbo!!! I almost killed myself ;-). Sorry for my bad english greetz from germany

  • heel toe is SOOO much harder than just double clutching. you really have to practice on a track or a road with nobody on it. i tried and almost rear ended someone lol

  • thank you from america for making such an amazing car

  • hahaha! nice driving.. thanks for sharing the vid

  • haha! wow! that was skill. i wish i could heel-toe like Mr. Rohrl.

  • estos espectacular! increible como manejan estos tipo... el rally es lo mas!

  • Awesome! love the music!!

  • He's quick, using both Sport Quattro and Sport Quattro S1 in the same special stage.

  • Holy Jesus

  • Walter Rohrl is god. That guy could drive an ice cream truck around a track faster than I could in a ferrari. His footwork is nothing short of superhuman. As porsche's test driver, arguably the coolest job in the world, porsche still got the better deal!

  • walter roehrl was double world champion back in the ages of group 4, and group B. and he surviced the gr B monsters. that sais it all. plus, a record at pikes peak, beating vatanen (in the peugeot 205t16) at his first and only race on pikes peak...at 60, still the best rally driver ever.

  • Pace notes describe the road ahead to the driver, so he knows what to expect

  • I saw another video of this and a man was reading commands to him off a notebook. why?

  • They are called pace notes, and the co-driver reads these notes to the driver as they are moving along the route.

  • fork me dead, that is awesome. lol DDR comment

  • look at the footwork! amazing

  • right, well he was one of the best drivers ;) Above that he could well compete on normal racing tracks.

  • He'd be an absolute pro at DDR

  • Does someone know the name of this song? I really love it even though it is somewhat odd! :)

  • Awesome car awesome driver just a shame that group b had to be cancelled. those spectators were insanely stupid standin that close though. they were stupid

  • Walter Rohrl had b@lls of steel. He once said that he would blank out the (insanity of the) spectators standing so close to the cars, by imagining them as trees in a forest as he went by. What a guy !

  • - good, OUTSTANDING but in my opinion, Ari Vatanen is the BesT

  • I think all of the Group B drivers were the best - there's no point in deciding between them IMO, they were all fantastic and amazing to watch

  • @bigfatflip, at some stage they had over 650hp, a Lancia Delta with slicks etc even beat a Ferrari F1 at Monza (a car track) in ´85... I miss the glamour of group B.

  • Long gone are the days of group B cars with 500 hp and a clutch... Rohrl makes all the current WRC drivers look like panzies with their paddle shifters

  • yeah, that's what I call dancing on the pedal!!!

  • cool jajajaj

  • Watching Walter is utterly thrilling! Röhrl and the Quattro were made for each other. WRC zzzZZZzzzZZZ...

  • This is so much better than watching football

  • Thats real Rallye! I wish the Rallye today would be like this!

  • Insane! The best rally driver ever!

  • Oh my god.

  • ...one word...GROUP B FOREVER KILLER BEES...throtle, brake , clutch simultaniosly = NEVER COME BACK.... LOVEEE GROUP B ...and Rally never be like that <3 Toivonen...walter rhorl...vatanen...ragnotti...bah ;)

  • nuts

  • Nice pedal car!

  • thats so clever standing on the road when a rally car is hurtling at you

  • That's some great footwork.

  • this video is available at the audi quattro site under motorsports video
