  • ballet dancer here :) THIS HELPED SSSSOOOO MUCH! I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this. During the summer I can go up to 5 hours of non-stop classes and I come home with the most sore and tight legs imaginable. This helped fix the problem though :D you're wonderful! (I also enjoyed the musical selection ^_^ I was choreographing in my head while massaging hahaha)

  • The commentary from the hamstrings on this is so epic. Great piano. Another good way to do this is just shake the knees back and forth, the momentum carries into the strings and you feel them stretched by it.

  • i done a hammy last year and its been shit ever since. i got these lumpy hamstrings and pathetic quads. will strengthening the quads help reduce the work the hammys have to do?

  • hey rich i was just wondering why you tend to move from the knee towards the body as opposed to the other way in all your leg massage videos? is this for a specific reason? thanks , love ur vids

  • @dubbyah1 another good question. it's considered good practice to move toward your heart when applying massage, to help your blood move that way.

  • I'm so glad I found this video! I tried it for the first time today and think it will be a lifesaver. I'm a runner with an escalating tight hamstring problem that is affecting my glutes and low back - and of course my running! I look forward to feeling better. Thanks for the help.

  • gladi it helped. use it every day as long as it doesn't cause pain and as long as you feel it's doing you some good. I've done variations on that massage every day for a month while preparing the video, and i still do variations on it regularly.

  • After running for 1.5 mile up, and 1.5 mile down the side of a hill, my left hamstring is a lot more tighter than right one, and for months. Now, when I run about 2 miles, I start having pain on the head of fibula, but it stops as soon as i stop running. Walked 3.5 miles without any pain in the fibula. Do you think tight left hamstring is causing the pain?i m trying out ur massage.thanks.

  • Your tight left hamstring might be causing the pain. You're in a better position to know that than I am. If i have any pain when I run i stop running. If the pain doesn't go away I would see a massage or physical therapist.

  • you're welcome! try a tennis ball or even a softball for more intensity. but to get the most effective pressure try the massage tool used in the video called the backnobber ii.
