im so jealous :( I wish i could find a doctor knowledgeable enough to figure out the cause of my TMJ disorder and fix it instead of just telling me to eat soft food and sleep on my back.
Can you tell me what your symptoms were before it was fixed? My jaw doesn't get locked in place, but I literally can't chew without my jaw feeling like its poking my eardrum out and dislocating...it's painful, but my dentist says its no big deal.
Your dentist is a dipshit then, I have tmj, those are part of my symptoms it got so bad I ended up in the hospital taking medication for like four days ago we're trying to end it and hopefully it is getting over with because I've had a rough month and a half with this crap going on. I couldn't eat, laugh, talk or have fun like I used to I'm stuck in the bed until this fades.

@GiuliaMusicVideo yep, that's exactly what happened. basically the lady just took my jaw and manipulated the disk back into place by having me relax my jaw and she just moved it up and down with her thumb on my molar and her index finger holding my chin. I went to Stephen J Harkin's office.

Dude you're lucky compared to me, I have OPEN Lock Jaw, so if I yawn with my mouth to wide, My mouth can't close I gotta pop it back with my hands and it hurts sometime.
How far did you used to be able to open your mouth? My jaw is locked now. It's NO FUN. But this video was good!! Hope I can free hot. Hot soup or tea sometimes works but isn't now. Leave the hot liquid in your mouth for a while. It does help relax the muscles for a while... Thanks..

i have lock jaw on the right side.... the left went back in like 10 days after i got my wisdom teeth out.... my normal opening space thing is 44MM it is 34MM with lock jaw.. ive went in to the doctor 2 times to get it numbed and all tugged on and renched on and it didnt work.... so idk what the fuck to do and i wanna be able to eat a damn burger in peace not pain soon
@tylerwalker2 yep, this sounds exactly like what happened to me. Probably the best option for you is having saline injected into the muscle. Also, see what your doctor thinks of a night guard.

@gjnn uhmm i forget what the measurements were..whatever is smaller than centemeters I guess. an average person can open their mouth about 40..whatever units and I could only open mine 30. Then we got it to 40. So I was pretty happy. I had difficulty doing regular things like eating sandwhiches, salad, cupcakes, etc.

@xquickstrykex I wouldn't try unlocking it yourself. It might end up worse. And your jaw might be locked a different way than mine was. The disk in my jaw got knocked out of place in a cheerleading accident when a girl clocked me in the face. your lock jaw could be due to a bacterial infection or another cause. I would go to the doctor.

@ecko0mike uhm no not exactly. see, my old voice teacher (for opera) would always tell me to open my mouth...i couldn't really. So now that I can, i have to remember that i can. it helps wth tone, high notes, breath support, etc.
