The United States' backing of the creation of Israel was the biggest mistake that was made by the US in the century. The problem is this mess has been going on for over 50 years now, and while there have been attempts by the US to try setting things straight, they have neither been enough nor have they been very understanding of the Palestinian point of view. As much as I wish that this mess would disappear overnight, it won't, but I do think and feel that people are starting to see the truth.

They made a deal with the palestinian arabs to help them gain independence of the ottoman empire, then went against their own agreement by promising the land to the jews in return for financial gain. The United States' backing of the creation of Israel was the biggest mistake that was made by the US in the century. The problem is this mess has been going on for over 50 years now, and while there have been attempts by the US to try setting things straight, they have neither been enough nor have they been very understanding of the Palestinian point of view. As much as I wish that this mess would disappear overnight, it won't, but I do think and feel that people are starting to see the truth.

If anything I think the british are to blame. They made a deal with the palestinian arabs to help them gain independence of the ottoman empire, then went against their own agreement by promising the land to the jews in return for financial gain. Years later they've washed their hands of the whole thing and only watch as the conflict THEY started continues to escalate.

Centuries later we came back and kicked out the invaders.
