one youre not supposed to back up when hooked up to doubles / triples .. you can hit things or pull the con gear into..if i caught a driver of mine backing up a set i would fire them .
The idea behind a triple is you don't drive them where you need to back out. Generally you can reverse them a trailer length before you're fucked if you're lucky. It also depends on whether you're on mud, concrete or bitumen. Also axle number, grouping and draw bar length. Ontop of the 5 pivot points (3 turntables and 2 ringfeeders) there are too Many variables. Most if not all road train operators will have a drive through hard stand to unload or split the dog trailer off.
Hello fella, what nice job you've donne,I know is too hard to back up a long truck like that, its seems you are very familiar with long trucks, and here comes my questions, have you ever tryed to reverse a road train with 4 trailers?,I mean its on video I wish to see it,thanks for, and carry on down there on those big riggs
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Why on earth make it look so difficult? This should be a doddle for any competent moped rider, let alone a trucker. It`s so frustrating to witness incompetence on this scale.
@747piIot , in the sky you cry if you miss someone by a kilometer "he's too close" on the raod we miss each other by mere millimeters! backing this would be like u pulling your own plane to the taxi ramp! there are FIVE points of pivot in that whole combination!
Keep up the good work, I wouldnt mind having a crack at that one day, but id be happy to just drive it forwward! Cheers Scotty
@747piIot Have you ever reversed a single trailer? It's not easy, there are 3 there, get the angle wrong at it folds up on you like a concertina, it's like balancing three 20 tonne weights on to of each other, end on end.
@747piIot Ha ha ha, backing up triples? I used to pull doubles, and we had two length positions for our drawbar....also, the pup trailer was far shorter than the lead. There's two pivot points between the trailers (the dolly under the pup and the hitch between the dolly and the front trailer) plus the pivot for the front trailer. With the towbar in the short position (maybe 7 feet between the pivot points) it was nearly impossible to back up more than the length of the front trailer
@747piIot But the problem is that the dolly would fold up, and you couldn't catch it with the front trailer due to the length differences...there was no way to change the position of the back of the front trailer quickly enough to catch the dolly. So, it looks difficult because it is very, very difficult, especially with triples. He makes it look far easier than it actually is.
its a T650 , a lot of roadtrain operators use them, the are a step down from the bigger C501 or the newer C508 look up the kenworth australia website to see some more of them
That's definitely a Kenworth but for the model, I'll bet it's an Aussie version of our Canadian / Americain T-800. The hood is slightly different but sleeper & cab are pretty "standard" everywhere. Maybe someone can back me up on this...
The T650 isnt an Aussie version of any American Kenworth model. It was wholly designed and built by Aussie KW engineers and first released on the market along side the T600 in 1987, and remains virtually unchanged since then, only real mods being the taller roof cab (approx 1995?) and now the latest version (T658) which has a larger cooling package for the latest EGR and ACCERT engines, a slightly altered dash design, and the front axle position slighlty further back.
can anybody tell me this truck please cause i know american trucks and european trucks by names and modles but i dont know americans and this 1 is beatiful
I saw an old hand at Dunmurra open the door and stand on the step and reverse a triple like it was a sedan and box trailer. 1st go no worries at all, hope for us yet! Top vids mate
I think reversing one is piece of cake... two is tricky but i know for a fact three is damn hard...
I once had four trailers full of gravel and i drove a bit to far so had to reverse about 40 metres before dumping it - never again - was a nightmare... i had to try three or four times before it was where they requested...
It can be hard enough backing up a single trailer - at least with less experience. Doubles is pushing it, but I have only heard of one person who could back up triples successfully.
I couldn't concentrate on driving with that annoying "beep beep beep" sound. Sorry. Your trucks are soooo impressive and nice to watch, but to listen to them backing up is not a pleasure. beep- beep- beep- beep-
Always see you guys dusting down the outbacks, never seen one being back up. Why no one say anything about how fast these Monester travel down the straight's? THAT WHAT will blow everyone's mind away
the steering wheel is on da proper syd idiot ony americans ave it on da left syd and if da majority of dA world has it on da ryt syd wot syd does it mean is the correct syd !!!! dumb ass yank
think about this for a second if we drove on the side of the road we do now with steeering on other side if u had a head on u would have a higher chance of surviving
However hitting a tree would be worse...things balance out. Besides that your passenger would be more likely to be killed in your idea. Keep up the good thoughts...

backing a double is hard enough, the idea is to try to keep the font wheels straight the whole time. So the trailers dont fold up
