I don't know what kind of ridiculous propaganda you've been fed, but your facts are all wrong. The Parliament was about as elected as a tomato is a banana. There was 1 political party, the only legal party (especially under Stalin) and the Politburo of the Communist party chose who was to be elected in each riding (often election ballots would only have a single option on them). Ethnic minorities were constantly treated like shit, and 20 million citizens were murder at random.

ethnic minorities were never treated like shit, at least where I live. USSR gave education, alphabet to their language etc. pretty much revived their culture.

You can't claim Kavkaz if you are coward. Even armenians consider it a weakness. He only spent his youth there. In Soviet times he mostly visited Caucasus when he spent his summers if Abkhazia surrounded by maximum security. Though guy, eh. Bank robber Koba.
