I only read crap about DAoC...its graphic it's not the best, i know, but the game play,the atmosphere and the myths of the three realms (which are perfect historically speaking),the crafting, how you let grow up your char, and also most of the community (either in eu and/or in usa) is great.
On mmorpg i always searched for a great focus on PvP or anyway GvG, so DAoC is the most focused game i ever played, then i can put Guild Wars tied with WoW (even though they have very different system)
This should be called what mmorpg I would choose if I could only play for 2 hours then had to destroy it. I'd pick WoW too if that was the case but it's not so... DAOC FTW!
If you don't like the game Bhomein then don't play it. But the PVP and RVR is the best I have ever played. And the Battlegrounds at least are NOT limited for how many can join and help kill. But hay go play capture the flag some more while we go kill raids in RVR.

See when you talked about the UI i felt WoW was sort of cheated. You don't have to use all the action bars, and it can be scaled down quite a bit to where you had it. Overall, I agree though. Very good take on the games.

WoW is nice for playing after a "plot", but it´s very dull in the long run. PvP is pathetic and really unbalanced. 1k winter is a sad rippoff of daoc/war RvR.

Lotro is just simply eyecandy WoW with gandalf and friends. PvP at least a bit more exciting than WoW.
Daoc, very hard for beginners but when you´re in it, you never want to stop.
A huge variety of classes and the uniqueness of 3 realms competing against each other in RvR are priceless.
I like playing against other ppl, therefore daoc is still on top even after 9 years. during good population it really defines the "massive" in "MMORPG".
One reason why PvE/Raid orientated games can´t bind me is simply the fact, that
players act different than boss mobs and every fight is different.
The Arena in WoW is a nice idea, but due to unbalanced classes and the fact that gear>skill makes it pathetic.

WoW is a thing of the past i see lotro being the mmorpg of the future especially with the new f2p system coming in August. Lotro graphics are outstanding aswell and WoW just looks rushed and not really cared about as an attempt to make millions. Turbine must have taken a long time in producing Lotro and with all the expansion packs coming out I think it is far better than any game I have ever played for PC, Ps3, Xbox, Wii Anything really!
If you would never play DAOC you need to kill yourself. The graphics are actually IMO better then WoW, the gameplay surpasses it by a mile and DAOC's RVR atomsphere is amazing! have fun grinding to 80 while im getting 50 in a day chump.

Daoc imo is #1. PVP is 3 realms fighting adding to more vaiables. If you want variables.. this is your game. Because every aspect of this game is unpredictable. Problem is there is no advertisment and not many ppl i speak with know this game exists... but everyone has heard of WOW.
played and still playing Daoc. I did a 2 years run on WoW. It was fun, i admit it. But after 2 years i encountered 2 major problems: The lack of interest you get when your reach the highest places. just to redo them again and again. Or the total lack of an interesting PvP option to get you going. After 2 years, i realized my place was on Doac. because once your PvE is finished, PvP is waiting for you in its endless chalenges. This is the secret of longevity for a 9!!!! year old game!!!!
I've never played WoW or Lotro. I play daoc and love it. Nothing like that adrenaline rush you get from creeping up on your enemy in stealth mode,and then watching them drop dead from a barrage of arrows,lol. Hibernia FTW! Oh, and I like the graphics, It doesnt look like a comic book. Definately not as bad as this guy makes them out to be.
Lotro has the best crafting imo but after a few weeks of playing I realized how pointless it seemed without any PvP, I think they plan on making the whole evil side, in which case the game would rule, the people seem nice and it looks good. I hated WoW's look so I stayed out more or less.
But as old as DAoC is nothing tops the excitement of it's open field rvr, if only they made DAoC2 and not WAR. I get the feeling since WAR kinda flopped they won't be making another mmo, for a while anyway.
Imho, graphic quality in a game where the final aim is to reduce the enemy to a carpet of corpse grazing the lawn is just a - very - small detail.
I won't be looking at it when spells and solid arcanium is flying near my head, plus low graphical quality means more systems are able to run it => more targets to slay x-]

LoTRo: played closed beta, and after release (48 Guardian when i quit ((before moria expansion)))...great graphics, crappy pvp...
DAoC: I believe daoc needs a revamp on graphics, but not much. The game is 8 years old, and IS STILL RUNNING! Not to mention several devs from daoc came back from WAR.....can we say...daoc comeback? :P
Ok, ive played both WoW, and DAoC, and have come to these conclusions, for PvE - WoW FTW, For PvP(RvR) Go DAoC! Graphics do not suck that ba and its waaay better! Thats my opinion!
the people at blizzard will not use their wealth to improve the graphics of their game because it meets the minimalist amount of graphics for the lowest speced computers. there giving them the largest ratio of people eligible to play the game. boosting its quality would just lower customers giving them less money.
Lotro have warm breathing effects in cold areas like Forochel and also have alot dances but you have to learn how to dance them in every race festival area you got a quest and when you complete you choose one dance from 2 to learn and each race have 2 different dances
Lol, i love how the LOTRO graphics in the STARTING zones (Bree, Ered Luin, and The Shire) were all that was shown, yet they still blow away both other games.
LOTRO owns them both. I subscribed to all 3 for extensive periods of time. Played them all to death. And now I will not subscribe to WOW or DAoC ever again because LOTRO is just that much better IN MY OPINION. All opinion of course right?

Daoc is way superior to WoW in the domain of RvR gameplay and PvE is still very good, maybe WoW is slightly better so the overall is Daoc who is the most balanced game up there with character advancement by going head to head against players in Realm vs realm setting.
and I dont agree with the author last comment, graphic arent everything and Daoc graphic are in a "keep it simple" mode. Not uber but not bad that it discourage you.
I think people who love graphic only play WoW and LOTR, people who love gameplay and pvp as well as overall, play DAoC. I played DAoC for 6 years and WoW for 4 years. DAoC is far more fun than WoW.
Lotro can't be said to have lacking content, if nothing else it's not a "grind, grind, grind until 80 and enjoy the instances which you'll raid over and over again for gear" approach that WoW adopted. Didn't play DAoC, so can't hold anything on that :p
I played WoW for 3 years, and I have to say it's not bad, if only the community wasn't as disappointed, and the content would be a bit more attractive then presented to the players in a grind fest. Lotro is not endgame focused, instead it's -
- spread evenly out from level 1 to 60. I myself found it surprising how friendly and mature the community is, and that there are plenty of low level characters around that don't make the 1->60 experience dull. The end game instances are definitely something one would enjoy, but it's not a "pain for gain" approach WoW has, it's a "pay for fun" approach that MMOs are supposed to have. Fun - from the moment you create your first character, to the time you roll your thousandth alt :p

This has to be the worst review EVER, not enuff content on daoc to even state your opinions....DAOC is by far the best game out, the graphics are 10 times better, each spell effect is unique as is the graphics for melee.

I've played all 3, at one time or another and honestly the daoc players always were the nicest, with lotro a close second.
Most daoc players are just pissed now because the game is more or less dead and the company refused to try and fix it before pouring funds into war. I personally am frustrated that people keep saying new games are stealing ideas from wow, when wow got most stuff from even older games.
I'm getting longwinded here, but definitely daoc, then lotro, and last wow.
GFX in DAoC is great... well unless you looked at GFX in the early days of DAoC then it was not so good.. but after SI, the GFX only got better and better
DAOC is by far the best of the 3. You can customize your character to how you want. You can even customize the armor you wear with different colors. There are so many options it's very unlikely that two people have the exact same look. With the Realm Abilities you earn from PVP you can customize your character even more. Not to Mention you get to customize your starting stats unlike the other three games. DAOC in my opinion was at its best Pre Lab. of Minotaur expansion.
although i love DAOC the best, wow has wayyy more armor variations, maybe not color's, but the armor is def. way mroe creative...besides in daoc they had the same 12 toa artifacts that everyone used lol, till the dragon pieces near the end..lol

I haven't played WoW nor LoTRO, but I remember playing DAoC (and I'm gonna be rejoining soon) I thought the graphics were pretty darn good. The special effects and everything were great. I'm a casual player and even I thought it was easy leveling up, especially with friends to help =) However this is my opinion. Everyone has their different tastes/styles, so there is no "best MMO" it's just little fan boys who have nothing better to do than dis the other games. Have fun playing your games ^.^
people in wow dont seem to be half as nice or helpful as in DaoC. I've played daoc since it came out it bests wow 10 to 1. Wow is boring and travel is lame and takes forever. And I agree with Dorfen DaoC is !OLD! and it has better graphics the original wow.

I have to say the part one was more neutral then part two. This part is more focused on WOW. The defining differance between the mmos is the PvP. Wow lacks the stuggle that should be between the factions. Theres no, "OMG Allys are attacking so and so place" There is no real "Save the Place" sense. WOW BGs are nothing more than Quake/HF games.

i agree with that. wow ois the best most complete mmo out right now, but there are definitley was that i can improve. i think a lot of future mmos will expand on some niches within the genre. for example, AoC is very pvp driven. WAR will be the same thing, but it seems like they're trying to havea super refined pvp system, which is great. hopefully the competitors will push blizzard into new territory as well.

There is doubt that DAoC is superior in almost every area but visual.
IMHO the vid maker is way out with his assessment that DAoC graphics are "hardly playable".
The end summery was terrible and almost incoherent.
Seeing as he "would never pay for DAoC" I can't see how he could have experienced even a fraction of the game.

WoW is a really boring EverQuest clone, very simple and stupid. LotRO is a prettier WoW clone. DAoC is fully original, and amazing.

And by the way... (No offense mate) i think you're wrong about the horrible graphics in DAoC... I know the graphics are outdated, but almost every models in the game except the terrain was redone in the third expansion.

Daoc imo is #1. PVP is 3 realms fighting adding to more vaiables. If you want variables.. this is your game. Because every aspect of this game is unpredictable. Problem is there is no advertisment and not many ppl i speak with know this game exists... but everyone has heard of WOW.

played and still playing Daoc. I did a 2 years run on WoW. It was fun, i admit it. But after 2 years i encountered 2 major problems: The lack of interest you get when your reach the highest places. just to redo them again and again. Or the total lack of an interesting PvP option to get you going. After 2 years, i realized my place was on Doac. because once your PvE is finished, PvP is waiting for you in its endless chalenges. This is the secret of longevity for a 9!!!! year old game!!!!

I've never played WoW or Lotro. I play daoc and love it. Nothing like that adrenaline rush you get from creeping up on your enemy in stealth mode,and then watching them drop dead from a barrage of arrows,lol. Hibernia FTW! Oh, and I like the graphics, It doesnt look like a comic book. Definately not as bad as this guy makes them out to be.

Lotro has the best crafting imo but after a few weeks of playing I realized how pointless it seemed without any PvP, I think they plan on making the whole evil side, in which case the game would rule, the people seem nice and it looks good. I hated WoW's look so I stayed out more or less.
But as old as DAoC is nothing tops the excitement of it's open field rvr, if only they made DAoC2 and not WAR. I get the feeling since WAR kinda flopped they won't be making another mmo, for a while anyway.

Imho, graphic quality in a game where the final aim is to reduce the enemy to a carpet of corpse grazing the lawn is just a - very - small detail.
I won't be looking at it when spells and solid arcanium is flying near my head, plus low graphical quality means more systems are able to run it => more targets to slay x-]

WoW 42 hunter, played 2 weeks and gave up because of the pvp..
LoTRo: played closed beta, and after release (48 Guardian when i quit ((before moria expansion)))...great graphics, crappy pvp...
DAoC: I believe daoc needs a revamp on graphics, but not much. The game is 8 years old, and IS STILL RUNNING! Not to mention several devs from daoc came back from WAR.....can we say...daoc comeback? :P

the people at blizzard will not use their wealth to improve the graphics of their game because it meets the minimalist amount of graphics for the lowest speced computers. there giving them the largest ratio of people eligible to play the game. boosting its quality would just lower customers giving them less money.

Lotro have warm breathing effects in cold areas like Forochel and also have alot dances but you have to learn how to dance them in every race festival area you got a quest and when you complete you choose one dance from 2 to learn and each race have 2 different dances

Lol, i love how the LOTRO graphics in the STARTING zones (Bree, Ered Luin, and The Shire) were all that was shown, yet they still blow away both other games.
LOTRO owns them both. I subscribed to all 3 for extensive periods of time. Played them all to death. And now I will not subscribe to WOW or DAoC ever again because LOTRO is just that much better IN MY OPINION. All opinion of course right?

Daoc is way superior to WoW in the domain of RvR gameplay and PvE is still very good, maybe WoW is slightly better so the overall is Daoc who is the most balanced game up there with character advancement by going head to head against players in Realm vs realm setting.
and I dont agree with the author last comment, graphic arent everything and Daoc graphic are in a "keep it simple" mode. Not uber but not bad that it discourage you.

I think people who love graphic only play WoW and LOTR, people who love gameplay and pvp as well as overall, play DAoC. I played DAoC for 6 years and WoW for 4 years. DAoC is far more fun than WoW.

Lotro can't be said to have lacking content, if nothing else it's not a "grind, grind, grind until 80 and enjoy the instances which you'll raid over and over again for gear" approach that WoW adopted. Didn't play DAoC, so can't hold anything on that :p
I played WoW for 3 years, and I have to say it's not bad, if only the community wasn't as disappointed, and the content would be a bit more attractive then presented to the players in a grind fest. Lotro is not endgame focused, instead it's -

I myself found it surprising how friendly and mature the community is, and that there are plenty of low level characters around that don't make the 1->60 experience dull. The end game instances are definitely something one would enjoy, but it's not a "pain for gain" approach WoW has, it's a "pay for fun" approach that MMOs are supposed to have. Fun - from the moment you create your first character, to the time you roll your thousandth alt :p

This has to be the worst review EVER, not enuff content on daoc to even state your opinions....DAOC is by far the best game out, the graphics are 10 times better, each spell effect is unique as is the graphics for melee.
PvP in Daoc is 2nd to none, the only flaw in daoc is population, but its lasted 8 years now...
I have played wow on a friends account...never touching it again....same for lotro....both are crap!!!!

Well, they actually had to raise the server cap in daoc because there were too many loggin in :P
That's on a cluster of 10 servers though, so the population is still pretty low overall, but the action is hoppin' on the Devon cluster :P

I've played all 3, at one time or another and honestly the daoc players always were the nicest, with lotro a close second.
Most daoc players are just pissed now because the game is more or less dead and the company refused to try and fix it before pouring funds into war. I personally am frustrated that people keep saying new games are stealing ideas from wow, when wow got most stuff from even older games.
I'm getting longwinded here, but definitely daoc, then lotro, and last wow.

DAOC is by far the best of the 3. You can customize your character to how you want. You can even customize the armor you wear with different colors. There are so many options it's very unlikely that two people have the exact same look. With the Realm Abilities you earn from PVP you can customize your character even more. Not to Mention you get to customize your starting stats unlike the other three games. DAOC in my opinion was at its best Pre Lab. of Minotaur expansion.

I haven't played WoW nor LoTRO, but I remember playing DAoC (and I'm gonna be rejoining soon) I thought the graphics were pretty darn good. The special effects and everything were great. I'm a casual player and even I thought it was easy leveling up, especially with friends to help =) However this is my opinion. Everyone has their different tastes/styles, so there is no "best MMO" it's just little fan boys who have nothing better to do than dis the other games. Have fun playing your games ^.^

people in wow dont seem to be half as nice or helpful as in DaoC. I've played daoc since it came out it bests wow 10 to 1. Wow is boring and travel is lame and takes forever. And I agree with Dorfen DaoC is !OLD! and it has better graphics the original wow.

I have to say the part one was more neutral then part two. This part is more focused on WOW. The defining differance between the mmos is the PvP. Wow lacks the stuggle that should be between the factions. Theres no, "OMG Allys are attacking so and so place" There is no real "Save the Place" sense. WOW BGs are nothing more than Quake/HF games.

i agree with that. wow ois the best most complete mmo out right now, but there are definitley was that i can improve. i think a lot of future mmos will expand on some niches within the genre. for example, AoC is very pvp driven. WAR will be the same thing, but it seems like they're trying to havea super refined pvp system, which is great. hopefully the competitors will push blizzard into new territory as well.
