  • yea forearms usually grow from all the other lifts. going heavier on curls bench deadlifting everything that requires grip builds forearms more than and wrist curl.

  • Same as back and biceps. Even with the thumbless grip, you're working some biceps too in all rowing movements.

  • The way I think is when you want to gain muscles, you want to tear down as much muscle fibers as possible.

    When you're training chest, you're working alot of your triceps with all the presses.

    One the best exercises for triceps is dip and closegrip benchpress. And of course, you're working some chest too. That's why I think chest and triceps go together. It's normal you have less strength in your triceps after a good chest workout. But it won't effect your gain.

  • thanx never really tried thumbless for back.. its weird cause i only do thumbs wrapped around for barbell chest.. every other pressing movement i use thumbless lol.. i recently switched my workout up alot.. mon. shoulders shrugs,tue.legs forearms,wed back chest, thurs off fri chest biceps.. whats yours?

    *I do 3 times a week when I want to keep the shape or when the cortisol is too high...

  • Thumb less grip is great for back exercises because you can really isolate the lats without working too much of your biceps. The best example is lat pulldown, seated rows or dumbbells rows.

  • Wrapped around the bar is better.

    Reason number one: It's safer because with the thumb less grip, the bar can slip from your hands.

    Reason number two: The thumb less grip put alot of stress on your wrists.

    But I still do thumb less grip for chest all the time... I feel more comfortable lol.
