@Thor420nubz I have had 2....They are extremely pain resistant and were bred for this sort of activity...but they were NEVER pitted 1 on 1 vs a bull...It was always multiple dogs vs a tethered bull/bear....No dog could single handily take down a Spanish bull and often times the multiple dogs that were pitted got killed.
Not feeling pain is irrelevant when the bulls horn slices an artery....I'm not disrespecting these dogs and I know what they can do...

That wasn't a ring, it was a street. The bull didn't have any of the standard bull fighting pins in its back, looked like it had just gotten loose and that guy was trying to get it out of the street (and being stupid running out at a loose horned bull) and the dog tried to help the guy.

Will we outlaw them all? As I previously stated, an owner aptitude test would be a much more responsible course of action to take.

For those who don't understand, this is what pit bulls are... They were bred in the middle ages before guns to help butchers catch and kill cattle for food for the people. We the people, in order to satiate our disgusting societal ideals of combat turned them on each other. It is the dogs job and instinct to fight the bull, and I for one couldn't be prouder of that dogs spirit or tenacity. Long live the APBT.

I disagree. Instead, owners of dogs should be made to pass aptitude tests to acquire a license for a more powerful dog. An ENGLISH Bull Terrier was bred to fight, yes, but proved poor at it and have since been bred for ratting, bull baiting, and finally as housepets. They are loving, loyal, and full of character. To drive such a perfect breed to extinction would be a horrible shame.

Yes, I would. Have you ever owned an English Bull Terrier? My father breeds dogs, my mother loves dogs, and I have worked in various kennels. Though they can be rowdy, they are among the MOST devoted, loving, and trustworthy dog breeds available. This is not a fighting dog. Any dog has the capabilities to mutilate a human. Most animals do. Will we outlaw them all? As I previously stated, an owner aptitude test would be a much more responsible course of action to take.

And as for the actual reports of the attacks, the story seems to be all over the place. First the girl was at a party, then it was said she was at a small get-together. Then the story changes, to say that the dog had attacked her in her sleep. First her ear and nose are injured, then her eyes and forehead. First the dog is a English Bull Terrier, then it is a Pit Bull Terrier. It seems to me to be more like propaganda.

Bull Terriers were originally bred for dog fighting. They then spread out to be used for ratting, and bull-baiting. So it would be one dog, to distract the bull- not fight it. That is what the dog is doing. Not fighting it, but distracting it so the man can escape.
These dogs have extremely powerful jaws- I have two and playing tug of war, the dog is easily lifted off the ground with the toy. Do you think you could support yourself with your mouth?

The bull was taken there against it's will, had already been tortured prior to going into the ring with painful clamps placed on it's testicles and things stabbed into it's back that wave as it moves causing more damage. The bull is terrified and enraged when it enters the ring due to the extreme pain it has already been subjected to. It's just a fact - at least in the US - the audience at any animal fight will not be doctors, lawyers, professors or scientists.
