At 3:50 notice the F-117 pilot giving the salute singal. Is a lateral movement of wings up and down. If i am wrong its just a recovering pilot move. LOL But actually what i say about the salute signal its true.
I guess that depends on what your definition of "is" is. It's the B-1's step-mother's first husband's cousin (twice removed)......but I've recently heard rumors that's not true. Hope that helps.
I was a crewchief on the F-111D, during Vietnam. I was stationed at Cannon AFB, NM., and was at Tikli AFB in Thailand during the war. The F-111 was made by General Dynamics. It was the first swing wing, mach 1 aircraft in the Air Force inventory. It had GFR (Ground Following Radar), and was sent on Bombing Missions the F-4 Phantom, and F-105 Thunderchief couldn't do. The F-111D was also sent to Bomb Mohamar Khadafi in Libya by Ronald Regan. It was a very special aircraft, not related/B-1.
My pleasure. Uncle Sam came calling 3 days out of high school. Said we have a party you're invited to.. Vietnam. At Cannon we had 4 Squadrons of F-111D's. "The 522nd Fireballs", "The 523rd Crusaders", "The 524th Hounds of Heaven" (my Squadron), and last, "The 428th Buccaneers". We were in the 8th Air Force, 27th Tactical Air Command. Lot's of good memories. The F-111 was a remarkable aircraft, could carry one hell of a bomb load, and was the First Military Fighter/Bomber with GFR.
What shoot something like this again? Of course, but its actually not like this anymore. Usually they use RWY3 which sucks because the lighting is horrible when they leave. This only happened because of the winds. If they leave on RWY3, I don't usually shoot it. Maybe this flag will be good?
Oh but I wasn't talking about the nighthawk (F-117) I was talking about the F-111 Aardvark and I thought it was retired even before 2006 because they used to have them at Cannon AFB which is right near where I live.
Thanks again Urban it's to bad though the F-111's proved they could do some damage in Desert Storm but hey what can you do, times change and they just got to expensive.
Me too, it's quite a distinctive looking plane..also when the pilots had to eject (sitting side by side)The front would pop off the rest of the plane and become an escape capsule:D It's too bad the F-111 wasnt able to perform the role it was intended to do..be a fighter.
Yeah they just built it way to heavy to be an effective fighter. Oh but that is interesting about the "escape capsule" I'd never even heard about that before.
In this vid youll also see allied forces from the UK, France and Sweden. They take part in Red flag exercises once a year and nellis has allied planes on our soil on a daily basis 365 24/7 training together EVERYDAY
USA IS A BEAST!!! Look how much firepower we have in the air!!! Look how fast we put those birds in the sky, look at the sheer numbers!!! USA KEEPS EM COMIN
the nighthawk is not exactly retired, because of some budget cuts they just parked em and took em off active duty, those planes are practically brand new still, we'll use em if we need em
Very very true Surfer22z. Most people do not understand that "retired" actually meens they will keep most of them in mothballs that can be put back into service within 8 days.
Have you been to dreamlandresort. Its a web site but I cant post it here since it wont let me. It has great info on it, and its where I learned everything about red flag. Try it if you havent.
redflag is exercises.. when the advisers set up different scenarios each jet must face and actually do what your told. this is why the f-22 has so many kill ratio. everything is tipped in their favor.
Being "tipped" to the existence of an F-22 in your battlespace is a HUGE advantage for the Eagle and Falcon drivers. The Raptor is THAT good. Normally, they wouldn't even know the F-22 is bearing down on them. Nice try.
that looks like its on nellis blvd, by the PT's Pub, back in the day when i was in high school, i would take dates out by where the speedway is now and sit in the desert and watch the jets take off from nellis.. ahh the good old days.. anyways.. great vid..
Producerthingys can have longer videos, but I guess it may be because it was posted so long time ago aswell? Maybe they didn't had the limit back then (which are there from stoping posts of tv series.)
actually mate you are also wrong. the aircraft at 8.40 is like you said, a Nimrod, however it is the Nimrod R.1 variant whose role is reccon. the MR.2 variant is the anti submarine version. Although at least u didnt think it was a vulcan lol
Ohhhh no! Because not only was I always into jets and reading books on them, but when I was stationed at Hahn AFB in Germany back in 1982, I saw one of those babies up close, and also when it took off! A Vulcan bomber is UNIQUE! I always described it as a bat to people who never saw one!
Don't worry sufer21z your own government is working very hard to disolve our own National sovereignty. I appreciate your patriotism but very soon a "North American Union" reality will be in your face. Also, learn how "commies" or rather leftists have shaped our culture in the last forty years and who was behind it. There is a war to be fought right here on our soil now!
This is Cheyenne St just east of Las Vegas BLVD. If you still dont know where these places are then use google earth and type Nellis AFB, find Cheyenne and the LVspeedway.
Unbelievable video!!! One after the other again and again! Wow I wish i could have been there! The F-117 is much more jet-like and noisy than I would have expected! Sounds more like an F-15 than a Learjet, say, which is interesting because it is not supersonic or anything.
yea i was about to say they can get in big trouble posting videos on base but i haven't lived there for 12 yrs so i forgot the good spots. keep the videos up there good to see though.
