How does conviction work?

It basically acts like a mana shield. It takes the damage until it breaks and protects you from any KD damage and HP damage. However, there are a few exceptions for KD. Some bosses (Colru) will still knock you down regardless. The shield does not regenerate and the strength of it is based on your defense.

So you mean when you don't have disciple at all? I'd say the difference is quite big since the strength of conviction depends on your defense. And I believe leveling disciple only increases the health of the shields. Maybe the defense as well, but that's something I haven't observed well enough to give an answer to. However, I'd say leveling up disciple is well worth it. I wish I thought about that before putting points into Grace: SP Aura.

I've thought about leveling Grace: Regeneration up to 2/5 only and max out Discipline and Grace: Destiny. This way I'll still heal about 720hp compared to 1800hp with 5/5 Regen in a minute in normal [&raid] missions.
I hope you'll be able to reset your points if Stage 3 comes out.

Yeah, most likely, they're gonna revamp the trans system again once stage 3 is released. So, you can expect a point redistribution again.
