Every parent raises their child differently, but the point is in HOW you do it, not in the fact that you were just THERE for them.
If your character is bad and you don't correct behaviors in yourself that you do not want reflected in your child, they'll be passed on to it. It's even worse if you cannot even IDENTIFY your own flaws in order to correct them in time.
