  • @SuperRandomizer2000

So have I, I was like wtf? This is actually a technique! lol

  • I picked this technique up without realizing it was a technique till just now. Sweet

  • are there actually people that actually need this lesson to be so in depth?

  • if you dont know what a hammer on and a pull off is you need to get help or listen to some zakk wylde

  • u don't have to explain it like seriously it is pretty obvious what u r doing

  • Nice..You can spell it.

  • So do I pick the second?

  • try guitarmanual.typepad.com/blog/ for beginner lessons or google guitar manual blog and see first result

  • good info but seriously do u have to talk that much? i got bored watching this sorry man

  • @HeritageDirt

i had to fast forward all the way to the end and then he kept talking so I jumped around a few more times

  • for some reason, your accent makes me learn better :)

  • your videos are very helpful. keep up the great work

  • that guitar is peavey raptor + exp right?, i think i got the same one.

  • I would of just said it looks like this.

    5h7p5

with keeping your first finger on 5 the whole time(which who doesn't do that by instinct??)

but, w/e good video anyway, good for those "I CAN'T LEARN ANYTHING, SPELL IT OUT FOR ME" types

  • @Jakeman8091 i agree

  • @Jakeman8091 This video was made for beginners. It helps when people explain every detail like he did.

  • gostei,as lições de base sempre são poderosas para a segurança na execução de determinados trechos musicais.,continue com as lições de base, parabéns.

  • Perfect , the only videos that explain thinks that you can remember easely are yours.Congrats.

  • As a player I always found it so hard to describe something this slow, but most beginners would really need something this descriptive. Nice man

  • thanks. very informative

  • Jimmy...Hey!...Jimmy!!

Look man we're gonna close in like 5 minutes.

Are you going to buy that thing today or what?

  • @NedFreppelin LMAO!!

  • whoo flying V!

  • no wait..

    it looked like it..

  • wow,he actually dragged that out for 5 minutes

  • @iamthescott1 LOL

  • I didnt even know one would need lessons for trills. lawls.

  • thanks man you really helps me i like it slow

  • 3rd string fifth fret

    3rd string

    fifth fret

    fith fret 3rd string

  • that was to easy. lol

  • dude you made this video draaaggg !! you could make the same video but with less babble in 30 seconds and everyone would still get it. just stop talking lol ;)

  • True, but some "slower" people sometimes need it :D

  • Really helpful video, thanks! :)

  • Thank you so much for posting! This video was very helpful for me as a beginner! :)

  • lesson to Jimi Hendrix Foxy Lady at the Beginning, Jimi plays a trill.

  • he reminds me of scott stapp.

  • Any advice on speeding up my trills or any exercises to speed things up? I've been playing for 4+ years but my trills, particularly between my first and third and first and fourth fingers, are pretty slow and don't seem to be getting better with work. :(

  • id say just try speeding it up just like everything else take a metronome start at a comfortable speed get use to the speed if you can do it well and controlled at that speed bump it up 5 bmp eventually it will get fast

  • if that doesn't work well maybe your problem is you need more strength in your fingers cause the 3rd and 4th are pretty weak to begin with maybe you should keep doing trills with those fingers as strength exercises... what i do is get my ipod touch and use it as a stop watch and trill as hard and fast as possible for a minute strait it wears down your muscles pretty quick you can also do a combination of keeping your first two fingers holding down while you trill with the 3rd.. hope this helps

  • Thanks for the tips! I think you are right... I feel pretty confident I've narrowed down my problem to a weak 3rd finger.

I'll give your suggestions a try!

  • I play trills at a decent speed. Try to use the penatonic scale in A. Works great for trills. Also use more of a solid slap with your ring finger.

  • Practice going up and down the fret board or from string to string with your pinky and ring finger. Do this enough and your muscle memory should kick in soon enough

  • That's exactly what lessons are for idiot.

  • @BrotherDamascus just for me :)

  • if your not a noob then why are you watching this video... i guess your just a stupid ass.

what was the point in you posting that comment?

  • The trill = 2 notes, the starting one, the higher one, and then the starting one again (it's the same note, that's why is only 2)

  • Bartolini, I'm pretty sure you're a grown man; I bet you're single, being that you have no patience.

  • ohh didnt relize the price tags

  • why do you have so many amps?

  • i think hes in a guitar store

  • you wanna no someone crazy at trilling Tony Iommi! dude yngwie maybe fast but he just does it on one string tony does it just as fast but fucking every where. he does trill slides, trill pentatonics, and double trills so if you wanna get good practice tonys stuff his shit will give you work out look up heaven and hell on the live evil album the big giant solo is TRILL BLISS. good lesson by the way you blab on and on a little to much and not enough show.

  • nice play some Maiden

  • Man you're incredible....!!! awesome....

  • yeah.. that's pretty much it, but you didn't have to make it sound like the people learning this are retards :D

  • some people learn slower than others...you do realize there are still little kids learning to play guitar and they might not get it by just looking...kids are getting dumber by the ages...

  • You're a good teacher, but it really shouldn't take 6 minutes to explain a trill. If the person doesn't get it in 1 minute, then they aren't good enough to play it honestly. Not saying I'm a guitar god, just saying they're simple.

  • To get good at trilling... listen to Yngwie Malmsteen do it... I've never heard anyone else trill as fast as he can... also Steve Vai, not quite as fast, but he has great phrasing with his trills (and everything else)

  • does satch not use quite alot eg. swta im not sure coz thts a series of trills i think im not sure but yeh malmsteen is gd for it

  • is this jimi hendrix?

  • i thought it was gonna be more complicated but its just hammer ons and pull offs...was looking at a betrayed tab (avenged sevenfold) and it said trill so i was confused..this help tho =)

  • cheers mate helped out heaps

  • thank you, that helped me. Everything well explained :) ...

  • you speled trilk and tirlingg rong itz spelded the wae u spelting it

  • lolwut?

  • that was in response to rooster, btw..

  • lol wut

  • lol i was just bored, i was saying whoever spelled trill wrong, even though i spelled all of my stuff wrong

  • sounds like santana

  • ooooooooooooh, so it's just hammer ons pulls offs... i thought it was something weird

  • dude... this helped alottttt

  • yeah, i'm having the same trouble as Bubbs49, it's weird

  • thanks man, u really help me!! =D

  • I love it man. I do the same thing when I'm helping teach someone. Everyone can't play quickly, some people are very new, so its better to err on being too simplified. If you can't remember what it was like learning, right handers, flip your guitar and try playing.

  • now im having with trouble with, what u said, my volume. i keep getting softer until it fades to almost nothing advice?

  • this guy cracks me up

  • Very good teaching, good up with the great job!

Do you have anymore guitar learning video please?

  • I think you explained it really well. Well done.

  • I'm glad you actually take it slow and explain what you are doing. I hate trying to learn a song on YouTube and they say "Well, you do this" then they play 1,500 notes and don't even tell you what they're playing.

  • that video could have been four minutes shorter

  • The finger remains!?

  • fuk you are going so fuking slow

  • i agree

  • teaching.

  • iron maiden's solo's are heavily based on trill

  • dude that was awesome thank you.

  • T-r-i-l-l you say?

  • woo i can do it with my acoustic guitar :D

  • the solo from "one" is pulloffs

the solo from "slither" is hammerons

and the solo from number of the beast is "TRILLS"

  • oh i can do that just didnt no wat it was called.

  • ummmm no offence but this is funny.... ur shirt says come play with us..... but oh well great lesson!

  • great lesson

  • Aha! With massive distortion it's not that hard!

  • This is impossible :/ My thrills are barely audible...

  • Yah I know, I can barely hear when I try it lol. Maybe its just my amp.

  • Thank You!

  • Thank you a lot you are Jesus

  • i am an inexperienced guitar player (about 2 years) and i found your statement "these are your effects (hold up your hands)" to be true with any guitar no matter how many effects you have (compression, wah wah, distortion, flanger, overdrive, etc.) if you can't play anything to start out with it those effects don't really matter

    good lesson!
