  • Hey Cuz, That's too cool! That used to be one of my favorite songs when i was in school....oops that's been a long time!

  • Now this one is a very cute version ! I love it...Very creative...!!!

  • This is excellent!

  • Loved the cat in the bit about not being alone, LOL.

  • O M G!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!

  • VARDY FUNNY :-)

  • Thank you all for the nice comments! We love reading them!

  • This video absolutely cracks me up. You couldn't have done a better job. You should send the web address to Melanie, I am sure it would crack her up too. My favourite bit is where the girl proudly goes up the steps holding her rollerskates, it is hilarious. But can someone tell me, what is it with keys and rollerskates anyway: what would you use the key for. Where I live is very hilly, not much call for rollerskates round here so its a bit of mystery. Doug (northern beaches Sydney)

  • We're glad you liked it! To answer your question, keys were used to tighten the skates to your feet back in the day. Thanks for the comment!

  • The key basically was a tool to tighten your skates onto your shoes. So the key and skates go together; not a house key. Though, here in this video, the house key concept works just a good, in a modern day way.

  • Yeah this video still makes me laugh, there are so many good bits in it. What about the bit where she sees the bloke, claps her hands together, and hippity-hops in the air for joy. Also the bit where she comes over the letterbox. And where she looks out from the cupboard and goes 'oh'. Yellowpants are dizziest ones!

  • No the song was saying that the girl saw the guy got a new key, SHE thought it was to help her with her roller skates. HE got it as a way to keep her away from him

  • Yep, in this video. But, Melanie's key was the old style roller skate tool that put the skates on. So, that's the key the girl (in the song, not the video) was referring to: A perfect match. A brand new pair of roller skates without the key. And, a brand new key without any skates to use it on. His Mom was instrumental in keeping her away from him (mutually speaking). By the way, in today's PC World, they'd accuse Melanie of "stalking".

  • Great movie video, I heard this song so many years ago when I was young. This song was first introduced on US radio in Saigon about 1970,great song by Melanie.

  • cute :)

  • this video is better with the song muted.

  • Thank you. You made me smile. Good work. :54 - 1:00 was pitch perfect blending of audio and visual as well as language and image. Nice subtle subtext as well. Keep up the good work.
