Don't put the fps too high. Just put the fps what you usually get in the games you play

For example, you get 30 fps in mw2 then you record at 30

well whats happening to me is, that i had a HDMI 32" TV and it played full settings no lag. i had to get rid of that tv and now im back to a 17" LCD monitor. Now it lags at low settings.. it will go 30.. 21.. 20..30....21..23.. and it will be real jumpy.. any ideas?

@itsshakeyo Actually, it records at half the resolution. Making the file half the size. It's important as you can't record 1080p footage like this unless you use a 2160 resolution. Most people wouldn't need to tweak like this if they could run it like that.

No, HALF-SIZE records the video in the half the resolution which means that it will destroy your quality by 50%...for example your game is set to 1366 x 768...if you record the game with Fraps and it is set to record in half size it will record the game as if it was playing in 683 x 384...

there is no difference that you can see, it makes you lagg less (half size) and there is nothing that you can actually see that makes it any different from full size

As long as you don't have your media player set to auto zoom files,then then you'll see how the once full window you recorded, now fits in the middle ,a bit how you see the youtube player ,when it's not maximised.

yeah i noticed when i recorded at 30 fps i got about 25-30 fps in mw2 (normal about 80-90) and when i said record at 90 fps i got around 45-50 fps alot better

alot of people are having problems with Fraps even me and my older brother and we built our computers and they have Pretty Kick ass shit inside and Fraps Still seems to lagg so computer Power isnt the issue Its the Harddrive think about it... you have a computer your playing a game USING THAT SAME HARDDRIVE .... So having a Second harddrive Dedicated to Fraps Will Increase the Performance of fraps No doubt Just have fast Harddrive ^_^

Sorry, but that's not true. My super smash bros brawl runs off an external harddrive, and quite well too if I may add.

However, when fraps runs and records to an internal drive, it lags horribly (goes from 50 FPS to 35 FPS).

I've even set it so that Fraps gets its own 2 cores, and my Brawl gets the other 2 cores, and even with that it still lags.

My guess is that only by having a dedicated video card will you get good results (i.e. SLI mode).
