If you dont want a modchip so hack your Wii.

if you rip the game and then update your wii to version 3.3 the ripped version will no longer work !!!... but you can load it with the origanl disk then swap em once you get the error....

I downloaded Super Smash Bros Brawl a while ago and used the 1.9g wiikey on my chipped Wii (Pal version) and burned the game on a Dual layer disk.

It look fine when I put in the disk, but when I started the game and my screen just went black. I would appreciate if someone could help me with my problem. Thanks in advance.

I burn all my 360games on a pioneer 212dbk with verabatim MIS using imgburn. Usually pioneers dont neer layerbreak but I still put it just in case. U neet to have the layerbreak 1913760. I burnt 27 games succesfully and only 2 coasters. 1 of them was pal game and other wouldnt recognize my saved game and crash

@Blade5468 Using burned discs with the wii will wear out the laser really fast. I know from experience, cuz my wii's disk drive died after a couple years of burned games. It just started this horrendous buzzing for a couple of months or maybe a half year, then died. Cost me almost $70 to replace.

Hey, I've heard that letting it run the full update can brick the system. Is this a possibility? I've heard it can be sidestepped by unplugging the Wii when the update is at 15% or so.

The only 'bricking' effect is that you get an extra Weather channel and an extra News channel.

As long as you have something like Wiikey, there should be no risk.
