  • DAMN! YOU'RE DAMN GOOD TO SING!

  • Easier to knock on heavens door to get in than ask Justin to let us download this one? Has the sands run dry! But great lesson as always...

  • justin the most pleasant human being , service to mankind ( guitar lovers , bed room guitarists )

keep up the good work , wish u health wealth n wisdom

  • justin, why don't you sing more often ? you have such a beautifull voice. You play sooooo well. You write so great song (turn to tell was yours right ? ) you deserve to be in front of the stage !

  • @Ania69290 In front of it? I think he should be on it.

  • @premazek He use to be on a stage next to a star, i meant he could be THE stage, and having the light ON HIM.

  • Justin is one of the reasons why things like SOPA & ACTA can't pass. Great lesson!

  • Im inspired from your version. Gonna Grab the Song Again to try your cool sus Cord s. Tanks

  • Definitly the best teacher !

  • you are brilliant and very generous thank you for your time

  • That's some good stuff! That's the song I've been looking for; it's easy chords and it'll make me better at the chord transitions. Thanks Justin!

  • @Asvarox The Bob Dylan classic Knockin On Heavens Door (covered by Guns n Roses)...

  • Hey man, really good!! It's really cool that you do this. I don't know if I can submit a video request this way but I'm a HUGE Rise Against fan and was wondering if there's anyway you could post a video playing one of their easier songs? I assume swing life away would be easiest but any one of their songs would be awesome!! I really really want to learn to play some of their songs. Thanks man!!

  • If you are a beginner, and you wanna learn how to play some cool songs then let Justin teach ya.

  • great.

  • Absolute beginner here. And I´m playing it.

  • zoom your fingers

  • hey youtubers ive been playing guitar for a few months on my shitty guitar and want to get a new acoustic but have no idea whats the right one for me. i have a budget of £100-150 i want one that isnt a cheap beginners but a high quality for a good price

  • @rastaman12212 Go to guitar center and look for Takamine. They have really good guitars and u should easily find yourself a good.

  • @rastaman12212 go buy a Taylor! :DDD one of the best sounding acoustic guitars!

  • @rastaman12212 Hey as someone said below try and see if you can get a Takamine! You can also try martin , they're pretty good!

  • where is the tutorial of guns n roses' patience gone ? did you removed it? :(

  • @hodenbold Guns N' Roses lawyers forced Justin to remove the video of Patience lesson

  • @AODSTO what?? is that for real?

  • @steffemelec Unfortunately yes it's true. I guess bullshit like this is similiar to the fact that for example some bands tab's like Velvet Revolver, Led Zeppelin etc. are banned for some countries (Poland don't know what bout' another countries) and Rocksmith game isn't yet released in Europe. One word - Licenses

  • Did you get singing lessons at any time?

  • Comment removed

  • Justin, I'm never going to be any good at the guitar but I enjoy having a go. You are a very talented guitarist & teacher and a generous bloke too giving lessons which may or may not be rewarded and I'm definitely enjoying having a go at the easy stuff. Getting you beginners disc and song book for Xmas. Cheers fella keep up the good work.

  • wonderful!!! very easy!! thank you teacher!

  • I hate the C chord thats a hard change from anywhere but an E or A

  • @dillydan88

Just 6 months ago I thought the C cord was a cord that I was never really going to master. I'd recommend checking out Justin's minimum movement exercise and his 1 minute changes exercise.

  • @dillydan88 actually i think the C chord is one of the chords with the most natural feeling..i like it more than say a B chord or an F chord..maybe it' just me though

  • Haha you can see him like laughing when he starts doing the axl rose vocals XD

  • Easily the best intructor on the net right now. Keep it up Justin. I promise when I have some extra I'll send you money for sure.

  • Cheers for this Justin!

Played it an Open Mic Night the other day at it went really well.

Keep it up, you're the best Teacher !!

  • youre a great teacher justin

    thankyou

i think that by adding the sus chords it gives the song a bit of a richard ashcroft/verve feel to it

which is a good thing :)

  • Great as always Justin, you´re by far the best teacher on youtube.

  • french (corse)

    tres jolie

  • Well Done!!

  • This lesson is the best way to learn knocking on heavens door!

  • Nice one Justin. Will you show us the "tricky" Guns'n'Roses version as well?

  • Wow, thank you for teaching me how to change between the regular and the sus chords so that it sounds really really amazing.

  • this was the first song i learnt on the guitar, and its still the one i first play when i pick up my guitar. love the difference with the sus chords. will be having a play later i think. Thanks Justin your a ledgend.

    Cheers

    Tim

  • your singing is great! good lesson!

  • I want Tasmanian devil BACK! :(

  • Not bad, but most viewed today, there's more worthy covers? Thumbs up though:)

  • @scarfunk1 This isn't a cover. It's a lesson.

  • Paused at 5:29. Awesome expression! Love the lesson as always.

  • a god guitarrist do not show his thumb

  • @iPatrickGibson

Well Clapton used to be considered God and he show and uses his thumb to play. Also Justin might just be a good guitarist not God....

  • @iPatrickGibson LOL wtf? Except for Eric Clapton, Hendrix, SRV, Mayer, Albert King, etc....

  • Dylan's version is milion times better than Roses's

  • Just wondering if Justin has done this as two big fingers up to G'n R.. They can't make you take this video off YouTube because they don't own the rights.. Well done Justin, stick it to those tossers..

  • @RicIrving you're an idiot

  • Hey Justin, why don't you grow a big beard?

  • Awesome! You are blessed from above with a great ability to teach, and play. Keep it up my brother!

    -Bill

  • Nice. Thanks for teaching how to add a little flavor to my chords.

  • I'm really interested as to why this lesson is all the way in stage 3 considering it has no barre chords and only 3 open chords in the whole song.

  • @ItalianStallion393 Probably due to the sus chords and the more complicated strumming he shows us... That's actually something he teaches in his intermediate course and not the beginner's course ;)

  • I was at college guitar class tonight. the teacher handed out the chord sheets to this song. :)

  • Thank you for the lesson! You're awesome! :)

  • More singing please . your sooo amazing :)

  • It'd be really funny If Gn'R lawyers asked Justin to remove the video

  • @Asvarox Why? GnR didn't write this song.

Look it up and then you can get back to me.

  • @Sarando1 That was the point.

  • @Asvarox or Robert Zimmerman's

  • @Asvarox Other than mentioning the band's name, GnR do not own the song.

  • @GratefulJWB and everybody:

I'm perfectly aware that Knockin' is not GnR' song. That's EXACTLY why it'd be funny if their lawyers asked Justin to remove this lesson (of a song that GnR only covered). I hope I made this clear.

  • @Asvarox it'd be bleedin' hilarious!

  • Nightmare by A7X! ! !

  • Tunnel Of Love Dire Straits please? :)

  • First thanks 4 all of your lessons.

I have learned alot from you but i would like

to know if you could do a lesson a song

    Powerful stuff by "Sean Hayes"

please and thank you. if could message me back

just to let me know if you can or not

    thanks

p.s. i love to jam to smokestack lighting

    loved your video great lesson

  • thanks justin for the lesson love the site too. keep them vid's coming

  • Song suggestion:kiss a girl by keith urban

  • isnt it "take this badge FROM me" and not "take this badge from off of me"? just checking?

  • Thank u for an awesome G. Lesson J! lol

I often have a hard time hearing the strumming when the hammer ons and pull offs are used, along with the sus cords. I think the way that uve taught this song my be the biggest help for me getting passed this block and also help me transition to the intermediate 16th note strumming pattern.

Again TY. Ima big fan of what u do.

  • this is one the first songs i learned, and i learned it off justin's original video!!!

  • I just skimmed through this lesson and thought it was well done. The only thing you left out was the chord substitution. I use this same song for teaching the relation between the "C" chord and the 'Am" chord. The Am is the relative minor to C and is a great chord substitution since they have nearly all the same notes. Not to take anything away from your great efforts....well done sir!

  • Amazing, brilliant lesson, Justin -- thank you!

  • Thxs Justin

  • I am always amazed, how much I learn by just watching one of your videos! Thanks a lot!

  • Justin do you know Marty Shwartz? If not you should meet each outher because you two are the best guitar teachers on youtube by far. Ive learned alot from both of you so, yeah you should talk.

  • @charlesomega23 Marty is an asshole! I left a comment that, might, he didn't like and he blocked me! Who does that?

  • @BadGuitarPlayerRock yea i requested a song from him cuz he says in his video that he'll play it if you asked him to and he never replied to me so i stopped watching his videos

  • @charlesomega23 I like Justin so much more, cause all his stuff is completely free.

  • Sure you want to put GN'R in the title? ;)

  • Now the Guns n' Roses version :)

  • @TheKillerFabivs it´s the same you only tune you guitar down. same chords

  • @MrDomguitar And the solos?

  • @TheKillerFabivs there are good tuorials on the net look on marty schwartz channel.

  • @TheKillerFabivs you can also transcribe a solo

  • @MrDomguitar I already did it but a Justin lesson is always appreciated

  • Nice and easy.

  • A favorite of mine to play but like Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd it's just such a short song. You end up getting lost in it while playing it and before you know it it's done. Fortunately there are two extra lyrics you can do for this one but sadly there aren't for WYWH.

Another great lesson Justin and thanks for all the work you put into doing these for all of us.

  • Justin, thank you this lesson.... GREAT WORK as always.

  • Astonishingly awesome!

  • Cool

  • I bought my guitar a year ago and tried to find a way to learn to play it. I've tried a lot of internet courses, but nothing seems quite feasible to learn me something. I thought I'ld never learn to play the guitar! And then I found your lessons. The way you teach is perfect for me. I'm actually a real beginner guitar player! It feels so good to be able to play something! Thank you, Justin! :)

  • @TheMigiel For extra awesome, look up Marty Schwartz; you can thank me later :P

  • @ParanormallyAwesome not man, justin knows more and teaches better

  • @MrPapas1991 Both are good teachers, I refer to both of their lessons but I agree, I prefer Justin, he takes the same light hearted approach to teaching as Marty, but still teaches with depth and gets the details that sometimes Marty misses. Both are great teachers...But Justin is the man :)

  • @Whataburke you said it just right !

  • @MrPapas1991 Never said he's a bad teacher, it just never hurts to expand your horizon.

  • @ParanormallyAwesome oh misunderstood sorry. i thought you said ' for someone who is extra awsome' implying that justin is not that awesome, while what you meant was for extra awesome videos look for marty. then you're right

  • Perfic!

  • sounds great Justin, you're a champion :) should come back to Tassie sometime though, it'd be cool to run into you haha

  • Love the sus chords - another brilliant lesson mate :)

  • My learning is improving all the time with your great tuition!!

  • My mind is blown. Gonna look for more info on those sus chords

  • This song sounds fitting for your voice Justin, great! Great lesson as always ;-)

  • thank you justin, it's great and you are a real crooner ! hi hi hi

  • Justin, your Maton sounds really sweet, thanks for the lesson.

  • This vid sums up everything that is brilliant about what Justin is doing: something for guitar players across many skill levels, it's encouraging and clear, gives you things to work towards as well as teaching you an all-time "round the BBQ" classic. Love it!

  • very good lesson!

  • justin is great :D he put in the suspended chords to show the begginers how to upgrade their chords :)

justin you are my hero :)

  • cool song!
