Tiers are about results from that character in tournaments too, so Zangief will probably get a great boost in the ranking, and SnakeEyes is godly but zangief is still hard to main, besides, the eventhubs tier list sucks, see tiers from other games like Smash bros. in smash boards, they select only the well-known players and tournament winners to make the tiers lists and the lists are incredibly precise.

Zangief is bottom tier, some ppl misunderstand what Tiers are, when a character is bottom tier it just means he has alot of hard matches, doesnt mean he cant win. I guess thats why ppl say tiers dont matter, its not there to tell you who to play or who WILL beat who, just shows character info in chart form.

@4everDukeNukem ppl commonly misunderstand what tier lists represent. it's made from a current understanding of the metagame. this metagame is constantly changing and people learn new things about characters and matchups. it is not the be-all-end-all of who will beat who.

@ofarone It's something like that. Ryu has fireballs, but Zangief can lariat through those and punish from pretty far away. Also, once Zangief gets in, the only way for Ryu to stand a chance is if he gets a really lucky shoryuken.

Nonetheless, It is a huge credit to David Sirlin for improving on perfection and having such a balanced and wonderful game now. Whenever I get pissed off at SSF4's dumb lag, I just pop this sucker on and it's GGPO makes all my troubles just fade away......

@KellysterOverdrive I don't know about that though, even in regular Super Turbo every single enhancement that was given to Zangief was to combat shoto's (hence, he had nothing to combat everyone else and left him last tier). Of course I'm not calling it an easy match but I don't think Snake eyes did anything in HD remix that wasn't available in regular.

I definitely agree that 'gief was given tons of enhancements to fight everyone off in HD remix (high chop against vega and akuma, declined recovery time from banishing flat). But at least for his match in the finals against ryu, I didn't really see anything exceptional that was not available to him in regualr super turbo.

In my opinion, i think DGV is a great Ryu player, fancy, and very fun to watch but at the same time, i don't think he's a very smart player either. By saying that is because, if you watch all his matches when using Ryu, you would notice how he uses his SUPER, very random and not well executed, more like chipping his opponents lifebar... I used to play him on XBL and i see this allllll the time. However i do like his Dee Jay ;)

DGV burns SUPER all day mainly to use the spacing it creates to begin his shenanigans all over as well as utilize the chip dmg. Also, DGV is a meter master. He can build meter faster than 99.9% of Ryu's out there. So...throwing his super out at seemingly random points wouldn't register to him as wasting a super. His juice kick capability is ridiculous as well as the rest of his execution. the man can build half his meter up after scoring a knockdown!

He's the best because he has unescapable setups even if your opponent lands a reversal.

In the corner if he does knee drop 360+K you can't escape.
