Right... so I accept your points, and I think we've come to some common agreements here... so now I just have to make a request.
How does one be an ethical omnivore? If you think that the only way to remove yourself from the death of animals for food is to go vegan, what to you makes veganism not the way to go?
I don't claim moral superiority to those who choose not to eat meat to avoid ethical difficulties. I've seen how Animals are slaughtered. When I buy meat, I buy animals that live to standards I'd be willing to subject them to (this generally means free range). The RSPCA certify quite a few producers now.
I don't think veganism even removes culpability for death, from agriculture, from overpopulation ect.
Ultimately, I don't consider killing an animal for food a moral wrong.
They aren't Sentient, so I don't believe they have individual rights. As an animal, I am a hunter/scavanger, but as a Sentient Being, I'm heir to thousands of years of domestic animals and the ability to massively affect the world. It's our job to look after the animals we have. I think the best way to do so is by improving our farming, by supporting what I feel is ethical. I also support hunting and trapping to keep the wilderness of our world profitable and protected.
Meat is murder.

@sWeepingsAnd
What definition of Murder are you using for this? Do you think that an animal killing another animal is murder? Are all deaths murder?
