In the 60s - early '90s, the only way Bulgarian people were able to hear "Western" music was if a band took a song by a "Western" artist and either translated it from whatever language the original was in, or used the tune and put their own lyrics in Bulgarian to placate the Socialist censorship.

For example, Led Zeppelin took from Howlin' Wolf, who took the same piece of music from someone else, who took a traditional/folk song and popularized it by giving it a bluesy sound. You hear "sampling" of other artists in modern hip-hop & rap. WHO CARES? DEAL WITH IT!!!! It's called "inspiration". It's called "paying tribute" to another artist. Call it whatever you want.
