@jimirockett2000 I think they probably mean the way your pushed up onto your arms using the wheels for support? It's a brilliant video. I'm in a wheelchair too and this has really helped me. Thank you. XX
that's great. i envy u smaller guys who can do stuff like that. at 6'1 and 210 lbs. i don't have the mobility u guys do. it's hard enough for me to dress laying down in bed. i do have to change undies alot cuz of the dribbles. i wear a pad too to catch most of the dribbles from a spastic bladder. meds help it somewhat. i also lost the ability/strength to support my torso. i have to wear a harness around my chest when i drive otherwise when i hit my brakes my torso goes flying forward.
@cellphonevictim im 6'2" and after SCI i weigh about 115lbs i lost 20 to 25 lbs f muscle from my legs. and i have to change my undies regularly as well from "dribbles" i like the way u put it its allot nicer than saying leakage lol. i have oxybutynintoo help my bladder to not contract. but i find more often than not whenever i transfer i end up leaking. =(
@jessiealarose sorry i didnt reply to this earlier. i have 5 vertebrae in my back fused with rods as well and i bend at the waist to compensate and use my arm strength to support my torso whenever bending forward.
What sort of cushion are you using? After 20 years in a Jay 2, I am now using a 4" deep roho, and its extremely difficult to get dressed this way. I was a snap with the Jay 2. Any suggestions or resources?
Nice to see that well I'm still down the same thing like you..Learn alots .. but there's something I've seen in ur Video in the Room - Box Of ASTRA - Lofric Catheter ..so U use Catheter every 4 hours right !! I've been Using but I Stopped it
Good video, even though I am a imcomplete and walk (or lean on everything on Gods green earth) I do the shimmy just like you do. Wishing you a great spring and health health and more good health. Billy
@gardenbill thats cool, i know there are some that didnt get the proper physical therapy or occupational therapy to teach the techniques iwas taught. this is my abilities after 1 year of being out patient/ on my own
