how do you regulate pH? i am planning on using phosphate buffers for my amazon tank, but when i read the label more carefully it said "Do not use with live plants."  I went over the chemistry of it with my biology teacher (ex fish guy), and we concluded it shouldn't be a problem. i have VERY alkaline (7.8+) tap water, so when i use liquid pH reducers it just bounces back overnight. what's your method? what't your tap like?

i love the tank; nice farlowellas (i have Hemiloricaria parva).

I had same problem with bouncing ph, use r/o water take the minerals out then monitor very closely until you get it consistent.

try driftwood and there might be stuff u can put in ur filter also try instant amazon or amazon rain

im not 100 percent sure if peat will make ur water more acidic

Man I think thats the most Gorgeous tank set-up I have ever seen. very well planted, brilliant fish, just amazing man, Just how big is your tank? and how much are those discuss, I'm from Canada, and i think i've been to every pets unlimited and i have not seen one b4 :( COOL TANK!!

Oh very nice set up, I've seen so many aquariums without gravel or plants on youtube-- you've given the discus an environment they can feel at home in.

Thanks, the tanks you have seen are more than likely breeding tanks. They keep them bare so they can keep them spotless. My tanks are fully mature and i think the discus feel a lot better when you provide cover.Glad you enjoyed the video, ill be posting some more soon with my new (better) camera

yeah ok....they are actually discus though.
