With all of this knowledge available via the internet, no america student should be struggling in math, english and science. Given they have access to the internet of course.
You are not only a very articulate and easy to understand teacher. You also seem to have a very charismatic personality. Thank you for this video sir.
Excellent pressentation. When I asked my Algebra teacher "why", he simply states..."That's the way it works..." Thanks for explaining the why's that nobody would every answer. It is easy when I know why.
why dont you just put the magnitude of x? its much more simple then trying to put these restrictions on kids because chances are if they dont understand this basic concept then math isnt really going to be what they are going to use in there career choice :D
hmmm.... You are wrong cagedkiller. See, time is not a vector, therefore it can not be negative... time has no orientation or direction... it is independent and can not be manipulated. Second thing... you gave people wrong definition... s = 1/2 g(9.81) * t^2... you see, plane is not moving with constant speed, but constant acceleration(beucase of Earth's gravity)... and time is measured in secons(s) and not seconds(sec)... I'll continue ;)
so it looks something like this(in perfect conditions... with no gravity): 900 s^2 * 0.0833333˙ m/s^2 ..... sooo s(displacement)=75 m if you want to do vector calculation... u'll get s=g+a/2 * t^2... s=9.81m/s^2+0.16666˙m/s^2/2 * 900 s^2

Why do two negatives multiplied = a positive?
Amethysting 2 years ago
Here's an example of this working in real life:
Say you were in an airplane and you were going downwards at a rate of 5m/s. This is the same as going UP at -5m/s.
To figure out the altitude of the plane 30 seconds ago, you would need to multiply by -30 seconds. (Displacement = Velocity x Time)
(-30 sec) x (-5 m/s) = 150 m
i.e. You were 150 metres higher, 30 seconds ago.

s=4489.5 m

when he says, the square root of -X.... there is no legit square root
(-a)(-a) = a ^2
negative times negative = positive
(a) (-a)= - a ^2
but (a) and (-a) are different #s... making it not a square root
CheapChatter324 2 years ago
A square root of a square is, essentially, its modulus, or absolute value. So, the root of x^2 is not x, but abs(x).
