In retrospect I was fuming at the time and may have over reacted to our experience on the border. we were not expecting the process in any way.Photographs and fingerprints were taken in a public place and our car was searched in our absence and unbeknown to us. They took our passports away for half an hour. The United States Military is made up of 1,477,896 active military personnel.
The US Armed Forces are more than 20 times larger than the Canadian Armed Forces. How would we not intervene if something happened in Canada?

I agree that this video isn't really offensive but I also disagree that the commercial you are reffering to is offensive aswell. It's just a joke, so it shouldn't be taken seriously. Also, in the 2 or 4 times I cross the Canadian border I have had no issues with either the US or the Canadian agents. As for the national inferiority complex, that aswell is a joke. In retrospect I was fuming at the time and may have over reacted to our experience on the border. we were not expecting the process in any way.Photographs and fingerprints were taken in a public place and our car was searched in our absence and unbeknown to us. They took our passports away for half an hour. One border guard was rude.But I did make another laugh to the shock of his mates when i joked about abu hamzer (the one with the hook) giving finger prints.

As a white UK tourist with children note we were treated very badly by the US while in a hire car on a bridge between Ontario and Ny state.1st september 09.We were humiliated.-but they let us in after paying money. On returning to Toronto we told our Canadian friends and they were embarrassed.
We really enjoyed Canada and the Canadians are lovely friendly people. We will never visit the US again -we will tell other brits the same.Polite note to the US -you are not the centre of the universe-
