Hello :: I see 4 tracks at this grade crossing, and the 4th track goes straight and is not on the main line is that one still being used? Does the Greatest Show on Earth Train uses the route too? When going to Baltimore? If I go there, can I stand at the grade crossing and see all the trains?
@Jc42bugs -all the tracks are used here. about the circus train, i'm not sure. when i saw it, it was in the yard a little south of here, and when it left, it went south to virginia so it did not go through these tracks (although it was on the same tracks, just not up this far.) i dont know if it came in through here.... maybe someone else knows..
I well remember this spot at Baileys! Back during the 1970s, when I worked as a field inspector for BG&E, I used to park the company car here under the Bayard St. bridge at the end of S. Eutaw St. to take my lunch break. Just east of the street crossing on this video was a switch for the Eutaw St. industrial spur which ran up the middle of the street and was still active with a couple customers. Thanks for bringing back the memories!
@shortliner68 -Yes, the abandoned tracks are still 'in the middle of the street' along with a few areas that have no asphalt and are still cobblestone!

Slight correction: It was the Ostend St. bridge I used to sit under. Been away from Baltimore too long...

so those this line evantually go through Harpers and Martinsburg or does it go to another track in teh Cumberland Sub

@trainmasta227 - this is the 'beginning' of the old main line. the tracks do lead to harpers, but the train can diverge and go other places

This is one of your best videos yet. It's always good to get the horn action.
