actually this wasn't edith's first movie role. her first role was in 1940. she was an extra in the 1940 film Arise, My Love.

Yeah, come on already John Waters-give your ok to release this on dvd with extras and old footage or interviews. It would make a welcome addition to my John Waters dvd collection set. "Multiple Maniacs" is also rare on videotape. I am unable to find it or rent it-may not even be available due to John Waters not giving approval for it's release.

According to a screenplay book with a foreword by John he actually ISN'T blocking "Maniacs" release. He asks readers to mail in and demand to NEW LINE that they release it on DVD. In all honestly it's not a particularly good film but it has some good scenes. I wish John would release this together with his unreleased early films as a boxset or something.

I, too would love to see his earlier films together in a box set. These fims in my opinion were experimental and it's good to have access to them before the later more mainstream stuff. Also I'd be able to rotate my viewing pleasure as I have seen all of the others I have so many times!

i THINK it's MONDO TRASHO, because that was in black and white. Could be wrong. Mondo Trasho wasn't all that great.

Alot of people don't know that when Divine wanted to be taken serious as an actor he was due to star in the pilot to "Married with Children", but sadly died the day of the shoot.
