I don't like Joan Baez's version. She gaves the song a mexican/spaniard feeling. It's too different from the original song that was humble song from chilean folklore.

@floresorellana It's not about nationalism. This version simply misunderstand the original purpose of the song. It wasn't a song about gratitude about life. Violeta wrote this just a little before of her suicide. The original song is woks more like an ironic goodbye. Other chilean seems to think similar to me. That´s why my comment is a top of this forum with more thumbs up.
By the way. Violeta wasn't part of any "movement". La nueva canción chilena didn't existed back then.
