Nope. That was a 308 with a thicker heads and a fuel injected manifold basically. So still the same engine. Even the power output remained at 165kw (except the chipped clubsport). There was also the 5.7 355 stroker from hsv from 93-98, built from the 5.0.

I just replied to nikkolassey's comment about what engines Holden have used over the years and stated that he forgot the fuel injected Holden 5lts (304 NOT 308) from the VN until the VT, in nikkolassey's post it sounds like Holden stopped using their own V8's from 89 then started using the U.S. V8's only recently which is of course not correct.
You could also add the 304 Holden V8 from the VL commodore and then the first fuel injected V8 Holden used, the 304 with twin throttle bodies which came out in the VL Walkinshaw.
fords rule the world in motor sport. while holden finish second best consistently in a TWO car competition lmao! not only that chev now suck at nascar too. toyota and ford v8s consistently dominate (mostly ford) while chevy and chryslar struggle to win any races lol. Umm, yeah, but who goes faster for less money? I don't belive FWD is the way to go if you want to go fast, modding your own car. Not to mention RWD has more options for putting bigger tires on your car, without porking the handling. Not to say that FWD cars don't look bad, I just wish that more of the body styles from Japan were RWD. Having owned both, I now just have a motorcycle to go fast. Less hassle. As long as it's faster than a Civic with a fart can I'm happy.
