Hi! nice playing there ^^ really helpful in giving me some ideas for my improvisation for that tune :D I would like to know which scale u used for the runs in 2.20-2.25 thx!
WOW I love it. i'm learning this piece right now and I'm a novice pianist period. This piece is hard for me because even my classical training is not that extensive. I LOVE what you did with this.
This is great! I am practising this piece myself but i am relatively new to jazz piano, since im a classically trained piano player.
I have to ask: How did you learn how to play? I spend time looking at websites for jazzpiano, watching youtube-videos, and listening to jazz standards. And of course lots and lots of practise. Was your learning much different? If so, or if not so, i would still be much grateful for your thoughts on the matter.
Thanks again for this wonderful video! Stay great!
Im also a pianist learning JAZZ piano. I learn jazz just by listening to CDs. I always repeat, repeat, repeat again and again until I find all the notes one by one, no matter how slow or fast the song is. I liked very fast songs before, and I practiced a lot of them.
Try it! Since you have been classically trained I believe that you will have more dexterity to use for Be-bop. More importantly, keep listening! And enjoy it! Then you will learn to feel it and play by ear - and heart!!
is that to say you are playing what you hear in your head when you solo - or playing something that should theoretically sound good? Great solo by the way.
A very smooth and lithe right hand paired with a well suited left to deliver a fully swinging version of Charlie Parkers be-bop anthem "Confirmation".
