Gotta love those hypalon coated bunker coats ! It's a shame somebody doesn't produce something like that now-they would be a Godsend in cold weather areas.
I flew with Peter, he was a great guy and pilot, they were never able to determine what happened to him or why the plane went down. I had flown that plane the day before...
this fire brings back memories of the charleston fire dept back before cell phones and smoke alarms... we would catch a fire like that sometimes 2 or 3 times a month...no rit teams, rehab, or air trucks... just a bunch of crazies fighting fire and having a blast...

Being treated at area hospitals were: Katherine Tully, 80, and her 41 year old daughter Kathleen Tully, and their third floor tenant Estelle Dion, 54. ..." Apparently the airline did not have enough insurance to pay for the damage so the homeowners had to take out loans to pay for replacing their houses. Source: Forry, Ed.
"In the early morning hours of Friday, June 26, a two engine Piper Seneca cargo plane operated by Cash Air, carrying financial newspapers and bank notes from New Jersey veered off course as it flew over Dorchester in its approach to Logan. nice video. the crew did a good job at stoping the fire. even though there not enough water in the world to put that fire out but they did good they kept the whole neaborhood from burning down. great job
A single-engine sesna crashed into the 3-deckers after an emergency on board. (Box 9-3412 I believe). I remember my father telling me about this fire. Amazing footage!
Remember that night clearly. Was in the crowd somewhere.
