you couldn't hold bottom because you're using the wrong sinkers, I'd be using 4-5oz flat sided snapper leads below a 2 hook flapper.......

I'm not being funny but every gutter has an enterance and exit....

@hairyscone at low tide some of the entrances to these gutters may not be deep enough and close up, leaving only one entrance to the gutter and making it more like a small bay.
