I am a Democrat and agree that spending needs to be curtailed but not in the areas of Social Security and Medicare. The seniors of this country worked hard for these benefits and receive far less than todays workforce. Obama was not in office when big business decided to move their plants overseas and deprived Americans of jobs which necessitated increases in unemploynent benefits and subsidies. He can't always be the one to back down and up until now he has been the only one on just about every issue. What does the current GOP have against compromise? I am a Democrat and agree that spending needs to be curtailed but not in the areas of Social Security and Medicare. The seniors of this country worked hard for these benefits and receive far less than todays workforce. Obama was not in office when big business decided to move their plants overseas and deprived Americans of jobs which necessitated increases in unemploynent benefits and subsidies. Bring our jobs back or increase taxes on products made abroad. Americans deserve this.
