@gatheringleaves look up a video called Lulla on youtube, its a music video by a Group of tuaregs in west africa, (in mali i think), there is a scene in the video when a hole bunch of them are dancing, they come in shades from dark skinned Megan Good to light and bright Mariah Carey and they are all from the same tribe, many black americans are decended from this tribe aswell
Sorry to tell you this but those Tuaregs in the video are probably mostly mixed, the reason why they come from very dark to light is due to admixture with berbers and arabs over many centuries, you dont find tribes like this in southern or western africa away from the Sahara

My hair used to be curly when I was younger but once I got it cut with a razor my hair texture changed. Also, try the no-poo method for healthier, shinier, more defined curls. "No-poo" is where you actually wash w/conditioner instead of shampoo (scrub scalp w/conditioner and rinse as you would w/shampoo, it will be clean), then after "washing" it like that, apply conditioner and leave it in. See the dramatic difference.
That's so funny. I use the same conditioner. I'm also biracial and my hair looks a lot like yours, only with more defined corkscrews. Here's an additional tip: don't rinse out the conditioner at all. Then see what it looks like.

@gatheringleaves look up a video called Lulla on youtube, its a music video by a Group of tuaregs in west africa, (in mali i think), there is a scene in the video when a hole bunch of them are dancing, they come in shades from dark skinned Megan Good to light and bright Mariah Carey and they are all from the same tribe, many black americans are decended from this tribe aswell

Sorry to tell you this but those Tuaregs in the video are probably mostly mixed, the reason why they come from very dark to light is due to admixture with berbers and arabs over many centuries, you dont find tribes like this in southern or western africa away from the Sahara

That Moroccan woman you mentioned most likely is mixed, not 100 percent african, she probably doesnt fully know her family history, which isn't surprising since Morocco is a mixed country of african and european or arab elements, like most countries in the middle east and north africa. And the Berbers are not negroids, they are a mixture of caucasian with some possibly negroid mixed in. The lightest natural africans are the Khoikhoi in Botswana

Also, try the no-poo method for healthier, shinier, more defined curls. "No-poo" is where you actually wash w/conditioner instead of shampoo (scrub scalp w/conditioner and rinse as you would w/shampoo, it will be clean), then after "washing" it like that, apply conditioner and leave it in.
