It sounds funny, because here at Stuttgart university people are reasearching load-bearing glass. So there are houses build, where all walls made of glass. They even made a glass stairs and a glass bridge. How about that?
I never knew about this and i even live in Argentina XD. I dont like how the house looks....kinda dirty, but whatever, he had put a lot of work in it....
1.Op de dag nu, dat Mozes gereed was met het oprichten van de tabelnakel, zalfde en heiligde hij die met al zijn toebehoren, benevens het altaar met al zijn toebehoren ; en toen hij deze gezalfd en geheiligd had,
Considering all were beer bottles, with a volume of 500 ml, the inner volume of the bottles alone would be 3000 m3. That would be like a 12 meter high block the size of a tennis court.
Further, if a building with 1 level would have walls made of 6.000.000 bottles it would be roughly the size of a football field (considering a 1/10 ratio of structure and empty space).
How is this Eco friendly? The glass material that would have been made into new bottles is gone so even more glass has to be manufactured in it's place :p
@dfan i notice your cheecky :p face, but I'll answer anyway!
recycling is generally worse than making new bottles, energy-wise; reusing is ideal. (though it is true that this is that many less bottles they can wash and reuse that have to be replaced with new ones. realistically though, it probably won't affect how many new bottles are made, and it's not unlikely that these bottles weren't going to be recycled anyway)
anyway, this is that many less bricks they have to manufacture!
@nght5tlkr you wouldn't get $0,5 in Argentina per bottle... not even half of that (I'm Argentinian myself by the way) and I don't think you can get a regular house by what you would have gotten by selling those - it's just not profitable at all. Besides, there is an artistic feel to it
@maxyliano I live in Argentina, and supermarkets charge me 0,50 U$S per bottle. But even if each bottle could be sold at 0,1 U$S each one, they would be valued more than half a million dollar.
there is 6 million bottels on the wall, take one down, thow it out., and there is 5 million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand, nine hundred and ninty nine bottels on the wall.
5 million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand, nine hundred and ninty nine bottels on the wall take one down throw it out, 5 million nine hundred ninety nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety eight bottles on the wall

The people in slums first need to find land on which to build their house -_-
Besides, at $.05, you'd still get $300,000 from all those bottles. Why not recycle it properly and get a real house?
