Aww, don't you just love how back then ONE Kiss meant EVERYTHING, it was the begginning of a love story between 2 people --> they were so chaste (Ok I know chastity isn't so cool because of the lack of freedom but it had it's good side, people had to put more efforts on converse and mannerism in the absence of lacking in sex skills --> which made love more true and romantic) Nowadays, it often takes more than a simple kiss to reach the same level of passion Jane and Tom shared :(

@poufkimashoula yeah. I agree. Now that it's ok for people to jump into bed the day they meet, everything is so rushed. It doesn't allow people to enjoy every "stage" in a relationship just taking it slow. Noticing him looking at you or just holding hands for the first time is not as exciting and new as it should be because everyone is so rushed to have sex. And from then on, the mistery in romance is gone.

@Mongoloidskee Tom Lefroy was real, and he and Jane Austen knew one another for a brief period while he was visiting family just like in the movie. There is no real evidence that they actually fell in love, but it's been speculated a lot. When Tom was an old man, he supposedly told a grandson or nephew that Jane Austen was the love of his life, so most of the movie is speculation on what could have happened.
