anyone who says the dallas player was offside hasn't watched enough soccer. although you can't actually see the other dallas player kicking the ball, you can judge that since the seattle defender is RUNNING back and the dallas player is WALKING back, and that he is still onside when the ball is in the air, that he had to have been onside when the ball was kicked. he doesn't actually become in an offside position until the ball is halfway there. i feel sorry for you if you think he was offside.
Shootouts are NASL era crap. No need for them. Every league in the world doesn't use them unless it's a playoff or cup match. Let the regular season games end in a tie. 90 minutes is a long time to run around.
From the point the ball leaves the foot of "Saragosa" (spelled wrong, I am sure) is when the scorer must be offside. Not when it is in the air. Therefore, you can't tell from the clip, because Saragosa kicking it is not shown at 2:49-2:50.
You guys can debate the offsides all day. This video is inconclusive.
the seattle defender was running back up the field and when the ball was played, the dallas man was offsides... but whatever, the game is done and nothing can be changed... imo seattle should have won
Rocha was most certainly off but Seattle had many opportunities to add to their lead and close this one out so they can only blame themselves for not finishing
because your blind. The Top defender in the replay is making him onside..... Seattle fans try opening your eyes while watching the vid. I hear that helps.....
thx man!

Dallas needs to move somewhere else... houston is obviously the better team and even with mexico right at the border they can't draw a crowd....move

dallases goal was offside. when the guy passed it, the other dude was offsides

You sure about that? Look again, at Rocha and Seattle's farthest player...

how can you tell the camera wan't even on him

very nice shot by Rocha. I had no idea that Jaqua was picked up by Seattle. Shame the Dynamo didn't get him back.

i cannot believe we (sounders) tied!!!! we are way better then dallas, have better offense and defense and shouldve shut them down in the first half

This is what I dont like about MLS:
No shootouts,
Extra time should end right when the 2:00 minutes or whatever is up,
I dont think you can challenge a call in MLS like NFL,
No good camera placement for Refs to look at to determine if a goal or penalty was deserved.
This would have possibly let the Sounders win the game (overtime idea would have).

That's not just MLS, all professional soccer leagues do that.
terrordactyI 2 years ago 2
...No... You've never seen a pro shootout?
iRooskie 2 years ago
Only if there's a cup or it's a knockout tournament, but not in any regular season game is there a shootout.
Alex703rockstar 2 years ago 3
Only in playoff games.

i disagree with you on everything except video review
sccrdd483 2 years ago
Why?
Shootouts are WAYYY more exciting and sometimes my favorite part of the game.

I am not fan of either team, and this is a no brainer. You can see the defender at the far end. Rocha is onside. Period.
aediasse 2 years ago
Hes clearly onside. The top defender is at fault for making the d-line so far back. Goal is good !

Wanted to say the Rocha goal was offside...but no. Nice one.

it was offside if u look closely...
freakforsoccer7 2 years ago
well u cant actually see very well on this vid but if u were watching the actual game and their replays u could see that he was offsides
freakforsoccer7 2 years ago
He wasn't offside. A Seattle defender at 2:49 keeps him onside. If you look at the top of the video you will see him.
arseniic 2 years ago
Yeah, that's what I see too.
