I know that Empire was weaker then the "Union". But still think about it the RSFSR contributed to nearly all of the USSR's achievements. If something legendary wasn't created in Russia then it was created in Ukraine or Belarus. The other 12 republics were still basically third world nations. USSR suffered 7,000,000 war casulties and about 23,000,000 civillians (total of 30 million). Poland lost about a third of its population and if China did not hold the Japanese from 1938-1944, then most of Asia would be speaking Japanese now. A statue must erected to glorify these three great nations!
