  • nice cigar!

  • So I didn't get it, are you scared of a constitutional convention or look forward to it? If its called because of states rights being violated by the federal government there is always the option to repeal (I think its the 16th ammendment) the income tax. I totally agree about not carring what other people do and wish more people would honor this, but I use the example of not caring if my neighbor has a meth lab as long as my house doesnt blow up...not cocks in asses and all that.

  • I was merely discussing the news of the day (May 9th 2009) the Federals are abusing their power and several states have enacted legislation or adopted resolutions reaffirming their rights. Whether a Con-Con is called really does not matter much to me. As for the homosexual thing-it was in the news at the time so there you are. I think a meth lab represents considerably more danger to the community than what ever two consenting adults may do to each other in private.

  • Bravo Captain for discussing the issue of liberty in such and open and honest fashion. In a nation founded on the principle of individual liberty, we all need to stop worrying about what are neighbors are doing as long as it presents no harm or fraud to us or our property. It seems too many want to exercise their personal liberty without accepting others doing the same.

  • A true capitalist secularist. I'm not sure your ilk should be calling other human beings perverts.

  • Thank you for your comment. A capitalist secularist? Yes, I think so in that I believe in, to a certain degree, laissez-faire capitalism. I also believe in freedom from the government imposition of religious beliefs. Social engineering by government is, IMO, an abuse of power. The only proper role of government, in my opinion, is to safeguard individual liberty. Notwithstanding, we shall soon see the effects of heavy handed government intervention and learn which is better.

  • It just seems ironic to me that you would deny the rights of the clergy to interfere in politics, yet support their brand of ugly labels for people whose sexuality differs from your own. It is also a little suspect that your label tends to exclude lesbians. Are you sure it is ethical to condemn one institution's abuse of power, yet condone the misogyny it engenders? Your attitude smacks of a highly non-secular upbringing, and reeks of the machismo such nurturing engenders. No offence.

  • No offense taken. You seem to be responding more to what you have incorrectly inferred than to anything I've actually said. I admit to using some words, like pervert, for impact but the word "Queer" in current usage, includes the entire GLBT community. I can't imagine how you managed to infer that I condone misogyny. If by "Highly non-secular" you mean "Bible thumping" you are wrong. I think a certain amount of understated Machismo in a man is a good thing so thanks for the compliment.

  • Though I highly believe you need to be enlightened about "queers," I'm glad you

realize that it's pretty pathetic how some

people (christians) care so much about what two people do in their own lives.

And I'm also glad you're aware and accept that things always change.

  • Thank you for commenting on my video. I am always happy to be enlightened.
