  • Amazing. This was so far over my head when I was a kid.

  • I also love your asides tossed into explaining the references; "Yoko Ono - performance artist and really bad singer."

This is one of my favorite episodes of PPG, and I'm glad someone took the time to put these references in. Thanks

  • @Zuyuri I aim to please ^_~

  • You must have a lot of time on your hands.

  • @WikiSorcerer I used to. Then I got friends and started going to college. Those are very time consuming these days.

  • I heard Butch Hartman is remaking this show with the help of Craig McCracken and Lauren Frost. They say it is gonna pretty much look like the original series and it is called Powerpuff Girls X and it will premire around November 30th 2012 on Cartoon Network in US and Teletoon in Canada.

  • @snackkracker101 No, it's just a rumor. Besides, we don't need anymore remakes, especially of 90s/early 2000s cartoons that are fine on their own.

  • This is amazing.

  • My family and I are Beatles fans, but I never recognized all the references. I knew some of them but not all of them. Thanks for posting this.

  • I remember watching this when I was like seven thinking what the hell? I knew who The Beatles were but not well enough to realise the links in this! I thought it was strange but now I think it's brilliant! :D

  • Wow....the professor is churning them out isn't he? LOL.

  • Kudos on this video... Must be real fan to put this together.

  • you're a genius, man!!

    When i was a kid

I could not be able to understand this episode!

    I was so silly :PP!!

  • You did an amazing job finding all of this out and explaining it. I loved it! :D

  • OMG....Now that I'm old enough to understand the references, I'm just all...wow

  • they even referenced HELP in the episode where Princess teamed up with Mojo Jojo (not this one though)

  • Why would any of them rob a bank? Mojo is a monkey, Him is a demon, Fuzzy almost never leaves his home and is a country bumkin, and Princess is already rich = P

  • U could say this was Beatle-tuned (not 2 b confused with auto-tuned)

  • This really cought my atention of things I'd missed watching this orinigaly! Thanks!

  • Comdy goal

  • @Zegane First off, his name is Him, which should give you a clue as to what sex he's s'posed to be. Second, he's essentially supposed to be the show's equivalent to the Devil. And furthermore, he's necessary because every superhero shoe needs a villain that could do some seriously messed up stuff.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO Also, supposedly, he is based on Head Blue Meanie in Yellow Submarine.

  • LETS BE BEST FRIENDS CUZ I LOVE THE BEATLES!

  • @popsgal100 OKAY :D

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO Amazing job, man! Must have took a long time and you were thorough and kind enough to label everything in the description. Well done :)

  • I totally never got this as a kid. It wasn't until I recently watched the episode that I got all the Beatles refrences.

  • @YoruichiHaruno funny, me to. I came here to see if anyone else was like that.

  • brilliant :)

  • Female 13-17

    Male 45-54

    Male 35-44

  • @GuyWithBluePoop I'm just kinda hoping that most of them are just here for The Beatles.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO Oddly enough, PPG wasn't intended for girls in the first place.

  • i wonder what paul and ringo thing about this cartoon.

  • i have this on vhs some where.

  • For some crazy reason, I like this version better. It's like some horribly disjointed musical.

  • damn what a beatles nerd

  • @RyukRasenganable The nerdiest.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO no kidiiing! this is so much like god damn! Is your life dedicated to this?

  • @RyukRasenganable In a manner of speaking, sort of. I am a bit obsessive when it comes to The Beatles.

  • At 01:51 , the background music is a parody of Sgt. Peppers song!

  • This episode is full of win.

  • 4:39

i WANT YOU, I want you so bad music

  • @madogmgd ...which I dubbed in. Notice how it's in stereo while the rest of the episode's background music is in mono?

  • damn professor can sing

  • lol googoogachu (shoots lazar)

  • And this is the reason of all

  • BEST! EPISODE! EVER! This is one of my favorite Beatles tributes xD

  • This episode made me actually believe it was somewhat alright to steal white stuff.

  • @BigDogJang0 On the plus side, you'll never run out of toilet paper again doing that.

  • Excellent!!!!!!!

    What a hoot!!!!!!!!!

  • hahahah i missed everything in this as a kid. but then again, i hardly knew anything about the beatles

  • The hidden videos are both not watchable for me! :(

  • @mrkazoo100 They've been deleted since I put them in there, and I never bothered to replace them. Really, they were just links to the Beatles' "Glass Onion" and John Lennon's "God".

  • This is back when cartoons were ballsy.

  • "Sgt. Pepper" is old fred from yellow submarine.

  • @Wiipodgirl Yes, an annotation already says that.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO sorry, i had them off

  • Wow, it's fantastic that you got all the references in here, you must be a huge fan!

I remember this going right over my head as a child... it's lovely that they put in references that you can look back on years later and understand. That's the sign of a brilliant cartoon, I say.

  • @DrownedBeliefs Admittedly, I didn't get everything when I made this and I had to go over and revise the annotations a LOT since I first uploaded it, but I appreciate that. Yes, I am indeed a huge fan :)

  • The BGM at 1:19 sounds like Martha My Dear :)

  • OMG!! I think I saw this when I was little and I got NONE of the references! (Well, obviously.) Also, 1:32, D-: HOW COULD THEY!?! Poor cartoon Beatles! :,-(

  • I love how this was made and they probably knew that a lot of the kids would have no idea but the parents would

  • OMG i remember this!!!!

  • no crapping way. 2 of my favorite things. beatles, and ppgs. OMGTHISISTHECOOLESTTHINGEHVAAAA!!!!

  • I grew up with the Beatles music because my father used to listen to them when he was a teenager and I was stuck with them. So I knew a lot of the references the first time I saw this. : )

  • After reading an autobiography about John, I finally understood all that tidbits here about him and his meeting with yoko. The Ladder, primal screaming, bed ins, apple corp... yeah, this episode is an awesome love letter to the Beatle's impact on pop culture and history:D

  • 05:34 it's a reference to the song Revolution #9. The song is pretty much full of noises, most of them that scare you, whether you play it forwards or backwards.

  • @metalvampire660 No...it's because he says "Number nine." The rest of it has nothing to do with the song. Interesting interpretation though.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO Yeah, that's true, but I think the fact that they are sitting in the middle of the street with all of those sounds comin' 'round it's a reference too. Parts of the song itself were "written" when Yoko Ono left a recorder on the window, to record sounds from the streets, so that could be a reference too. At least that's what I know.

Plus, everybody's wondering why is the song itself so creepy. Like many masterpieces about revolution, they have no sense, they only scare.

  • This is one of the main reasons why I love lauren faust and craig mccraken. This and my little pony.

  • If you hit 4, it sounds like Negro

  • someday monkey wont play piano song lol

  • i think you missed one at 0:42, right when the girls breaks into the bank, you hear a Day Tripper-ish tune

  • Wow man this is really great; well done! You pointed out things I never woulda noticed before :D

  • i met the guy who played Him before.

  • I AM THE WALRUS!!!!! i love that song n_n

  • Notice how at 1:30 there is an old woman with a crown in the audience :D They preformed for the Royal Family eh?

  • @TheXcessive Good call!!

  • Comment removed

  • stop the video at 8:04 right above mojo and moko you can see a sign between them saying Penny Lane just without the P-E and the A

  • 4:22 I wanna hold your...CASH!!!

    lolololol

  • the song playing while their on the roof sounds like The End

  • when he looks in the magnifying glass, the beginning sitar part of "Love you too"

  • I finally get it! Thanks! I didn't even get the "beat alls" part until I saw this lol

  • aww i watched this as a kid before i knew what the beatles were and i didn't get any of the jokes :3

  • 29 people didn't get the Beatles references

  • Man the villians sing quite well

  • Pause at 00:15 :)

  • And at 01:31 Un-fucking called for!

  • Comment removed

  • God, I just realised this months ago, I've watched my whole life and never saw the difference, maybe because I used to see this in spanish and that changes it all.

  • haha oh man so many references i missed, mostly becuz i watched this in spanish when it aired

  • i love him ( the red one)

  • This episode is geniale!!!

  • Oh God, not "Number #9".

  • @russiasvodka1969 Well, you did say you want a revolution.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO

Well you know we all want to change the world/ You're telling me it's the constitution well you know we all want to change the world :)

  • MY GOD MICHELLE is NAKED

  • words to live by 6:09

  • Man, someone who worked on this show was obviously a MAJOR Beatles fan.

  • @kdgreer0 That someone was the creator of the show.

  • @kdgreer0 Whoever wrote this episode deserves an award for all of these perfectly fit references.

  • @kdgreer0 not that much

  • jajajaja, simplemente brillante!!!

  • @palatiality It getcha. They're not everyone's cup of tea--case in point, my mom (who actually was around at the height of their popularity and success) never liked them one bit.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO Whoa... your mom was there at the height of the Beatles' popularity and success? Lucky her! :) But wait... she didn't like them? I LOVE them, and I was born 26 years after they broke up. I would give anything to have been there at the height of their successes... oh, well. Everyone has different opinions, after all.

30 years from now, people might be looking at "Bieber Fever" and thinking that everyone loved him in the 2010's. Well, he's CERTAINLY not my cup of tea :)

  • hahaha... I'm sure I've seen this as a kid xD

  • the songs at 3:38-3:40 sounds like puff the magic dragon by peter, paul, and mary

  • Funny how I watched this as a kid and didn't understand anything xD

  • @cmoz88 Oh man same here. Now it makes me smile. :)

  • @cmoz88

When I watched this when I was little I had no clue either now that I like the beatles all I can do is laugh when I watch this episode

  • in 5:21 he said, LOVE YOU TO, song from Revolver

  • @vitorbastos123 That's a bit of a stretch, to link such a common phrase like that. See everyone thinking the word "alright" = "Revolution".

  • I love this cartoon. My fav is blossom and the mayor.

  • fuzzy, get the fukc of ringo!!!!!

  • Missed one.

Mojo says "Its alright" - that's Revolution 1.

  • @LionheartMachinima I'm not so certain such a common phrase could count as a reference here.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO I s'pose. Just came to the thought due to the emphasis added.

  • @LionheartMachinima I considered it at first, but I ultimately left it since I thought it might be a stretch.

  • No idea so many references were in this episode, then again apart from "Get Back" I don't really care for The Beatles. Still, it's pretty awesome how much homage was crammed in this episode.

  • Heh. Younger, I only got the Help! reference, being my dad's favourite.

  • @LionheartMachinima I'm willing to bet that's the only reference any non-Beatles-loving kid would have gotten, as that (and "Moko Jono") was pretty much all I get out of it way back when.

  • lol!! I remember watching this as a kid and didn't understand wtf were they talking about! It all make sense now!! :D

  • OH MY GOD. SO MANY REFERENCES. it is AWESOME!!!

  • Cartoon Network is making this 3DS fighting game called Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion.does anyone know about it?

  • Oh my god this is so the Beatles I love the Beatles!!!!!!

  • I know everything in this cartoon know need for annoying pop ups I already know the jewelry thing. Yipee PPG loves the Beatles

  • I love the Beatles!!!!!!!!!

  • i want to hold your cash

  • Wow! The PPGs' makers are a BIG fan of The Beatles. Lol. Can't blame them, The Beatles is a really good band.

  • Ah wait, I just saw it in the video. Sorry.

  • Somewhere in this episode Mojo Jojo says "I wanna hold your cash".

  • Feeling, quite nostalgic right now. Back when I was a kid watching this, I had no idea how many actual Beatles references this episode had.

  • kinda long....

i'm just going to ask the stupid question: are all the songs present really done by the Beatles?

boy, they did a lot, seems a shame they had faded out over time....

  • @cheetahkit You better believe it. Their entire backcatalogue sits at around the 300 mark. They were very busy people.

  • @CalmBlue Not to mention all the unreleased stuff. Oh, "Carnival of Light", will we EVER hear you?

  • @cheetahkit know everything in this cartoon know need for annoying pop ups I already know the jewelry thing. Yipee PPG loves the Beatles

  • Very funny! Great Job!

  • Nice Editing!!

  • i cant believe i just watched practically a full episode of the powerpuff girls that was about the Beatles.

  • The scene with The End music is one of the best in this episode :D

  • I rember when I first watched this show as a kid, I had no idea what they were talking about. Now, I get every single reference ^ __ ^

  • i do not like it

  • @BloomSky10 Okay, no problem.

  • Wow. I knew this episode was a massive Beatles reference, but I had no idea it was to THIS extent.

  • say "paul is dead" and then play it backwards. also antichrist. then watch the winged beetle on you-tube. then start looking into things for yourself. cause was killed and the devil took over.

  • @theExpFilms Lemme guess, you're gonna say The Beatles are all in the Illuminati now?

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO no, paul is the antichrist.

  • @theExpFilms But where would that leave Ringo?

  • @theExpFilms HEY! HE IS NOT!

  • Capitol and EMI, eh. I don't see Sony and Viacom in there so it'll be fine... of course if they even want to try they're going to need a good

    ATTOOORRNIIIIIEEEEE

  • @LordAaronus I think you're assuming there that I would be able to defend the legality of this well.

  • @LordAaronus WIN, absolutely! :-D

  • The ''Beatles '' gets Beaten by ''beat-alls '' xD

  • @AnesBosna BAHAHAHA

  • this episode was genius

  • at 05:35 it's about the revolution 9 song. because they were all staying in the middle of the street with those sounds around, isn't it?

  • @metalvampire660 …no, it's because the line he said there was "number nine".

  • I remember watching this as a kid, and thinking it really friggin' weird. Then I did a unit on the Beatles in music theory and rewatched it, and made a whole lot more sense. Now I watch this, and I finally understand how much effort they put into this.

  • Oh god. Oh GOD. I feel like a part of my universe just got pieced together in front of my eyes. I feel euphoria.

  • 08:52 LMAO!!!! thats a very good reacion XD and the after music, too

  • when i was little i did not know they was talkking about the beatles lol

  • THIS IS AWESOME

  • *vid*

  • You could've used "That Boy" for the part where Mojo says "But you took my love away". Otherwise, great bid...

  • @what0080 I'd never heard that song at the time I made this video, as bizarre as that sounds.

  • Why couldn't you just type "Jude". It's just a word.

  • @Omnominable Because that's less fun!

  • wow this episode was way more fantastic than i originally realized as a kid

  • i remember this program :(

  • i actually think this is bashing the Beatles.

    i have that feeling.

    idk maybe it's just me

  • @proudmexican111 What gives you that impression?

  • wait a minute, they tryna call Fuzzy Goege?

  • When I first saw this episode, I only got a few references. When they showed the Beatles upfront and brought up the song titles, it was obvious. The fact that John and Yoko actually screamed for therapy? Um, no. I can't believe how loaded with references this episode was, and you did a great job at pointing out all of them!

  • cartoons will never be this amazing again.

At best they'll do the equivalent of this staring Justin Beiber. Probably by Johnny Test.
